The Project Hate MCMXCIX - Line-Up Changes

Swedish Industrial Death metallers The Project Hate MCMXCIX have issued the following update:

"It's 2010 and we thought we should start off the new year by making quite a bit of changes. Some might come as a total surprise, some may not. We were never a band who gave a fuck about what other people think anyways. That sounded cool, huh?

First off we wanna thank Jo Enckell for her work with The Project Hate since 2003. She's done a great job on the albums she's been a part of and will always be a huge part of TPH's history. Yes, Ms. Jo is no longer a part of TPH. There are no grudges held or anything, we just feel it's time to enter a new stage in our career. This is what Jo has to say about this: "I'm so happy to have been a part of The Project Hate MCMXCIX, to have been able to participate on four killer albums! This band will always have a special place in my heart. I love you guys and to all the fans - you rule! - Jo"

Many of you will wonder why Jo is relieved of duty after all these years. It's simple - we have done fantastic albums with her since Hate, Dominate, Congregate, Eliminate some 7 years ago, but now we feel it's time to go for another type of vocals when it comes to the female parts. We are looking for something else to further enhance our sound. And we have found it. In fucken Portugal of all places.

Let us introduce Ms. Roque to the fold. A killer chick with an absolutely fantastic voice including range, dynamics and power. Ms. Roque is destined to make her mark in TPH history with the strongest vocals we have ever had. You will have more info on her shortly in case you don't have the strength to Google her yourself. In her own words: "I'm very proud and thankful to be joining TPH, its an honour to be joining forces with such talented musicians. A big thank you to Lord K for believing in me and my "pipes" ! To all the fans of TPH , I promise you guys that I won't let you guys down! I'm very motivated and ready to kick some serious ass!! Truly yours - Ruby"

Welcome Ms. Roque to The Hate. We are extremely happy to have her on board and look forward to work with her for years and years to come.

We are not done yet though... What? We are changing drummer as well? Yes, we are. Thomas Ohlsson (Axenstar), who played on The Lustrate Process and did a great job with it, is also replaced. Why? Well, sometimes the answer is right in front of you, you just forget to look since it's too close. Of course Tobben Gustafsson of Torture Division and Vomitory is the man to be the last piece of the Hate puzzle. It dawned on us some time ago; why the hell isn't one of our fave drummers and best friends playing drums for TPH? We know what this guy is capable of and it's safe to say we'll get the finest drumming of our career with the next album by having Golden T on it. As said before, his nickname isn't fucken Golden for nothing, you know. Here's what Tobben has to say about being the new drummer: "I am very excited to join forces with K and J again, but now in The Project Hate MCMXCIX! From having been not so impressed in the beginning, I have grown to like this band a lot over the years. Their sound is truly unique and it's not the kind of metal I'm used to play, so it will be a big challenge for me to take on this honourable task. It will demand a lot of hard work, blood, sweat and frustration but I know it will all be worth it in the end. Prepare for a masterpiece!"

Orphaned Land - Three Songs Streaming Online

Original news, posted on 16.12.2009

The metal webzine from Israel, Metalist Magazine http://metalist.co.il, gives the opportunity to listen to one of the first songs of the upcoming Orphaned Land long awaited album The Never Ending Way Of OrWarriOR.

This song called "Sapari" is, like "Nora El Nora" (featured on Mabool), a cover of a traditional song and doesn't really represent the musical orientation of the album...

...but If you cannot wait anymore time to listen to the song, just follow this link http://metalist.co.il/NewsPrivate.asp?id=2847 and enjoy!

UPDATED, on 22.12.2009 (thanks to Forsaker)

A new Orphaned Land song, called "Vayehi Or" (English: "Let There Be Light") is available for streaming at the band's MySpace page.

UPDATE (thanks to BudDa and Jojolviking)

Another new Orphaned Land song is streaming on the band's MySpace page.

Vocalist Kobi Farhi adds: "With less than three weeks to go till the release of The Never Ending Way of ORwarriOR (for the Israeli and European fans), we have posted a brand new track online.

"Disciples Of The Sacred Oath II" is a heavy song, both musically and lyrically and it is one of the most important tracks of the album by its meaning. Indeed, it calls for a laying down of arms, to realize that the warriors are first of all brothers: "Lay down your swords, blood and flesh you share" ... "Shall we see the end of war, blood brothers?". It is definitively the most outspoken text we ever wrote on this subject.

Furthermore, as this song contains Arabic lyrics, we would like to dedicate it to our Arab fans and we hope that one day we will sing it together in a show in their home countries!"

Imperial Vengeance - Sign To Transcend Records

Official press release

Transcend Management are very pleased to announce the signing of a worldwide management deal with Imperial Vengeance, a British extreme metal act formed in 2007 by C. Edward Alexander (aka Charles Hedger (Cradle Of Filth)) and David Bryan.

The band have an interesting and intriguing angle to their creative persona as they attempt to explore ideas and material firmly rooted in the glory days of the British Empire presenting a wide range of subjects influenced by its' colorful social and military histories, theatre, literature and mythologies.

Having self-released their 4-track EP called Death: August & Royal in early 2008 the band were quickly snapped up by legendary UK label Candlelight Records. The duo then spent the rest of the year writing and recording their debut album At The Going Down Of The Sun. Fuelled by absinthe and cigar smoke, the album contains ten tracks of what the duo have referred to as "Aristocratic Dark Metal" with the title track featuring a specially recorded passage from Harry Patch, who at the age of 110 was the last surviving Tommy to have seen combat in the trenches of the Pashcendale. Mixed and mastered by Brett Caldas-Lima and released 25th July 2009, the CD has been attracting considerable attention and excellent reviews.

The band made it's blistering live debut at The Garage in London, opening for Chthonic closely followed by a set on Remembrance Sunday at Hellfire Festival at Birmingham's NEC to an audience of union flag waving fans. Touring plans for 2010 are well underway and will be revealed in due course.

Rob Ferguson of Transcend commented "I am personally very excited to welcome Imperial Vengeance to our exclusive management roster. I firmly believe that they have a fantastic all round package both musically and visually. It is refreshing to see a band that already has a strong identity, great depth and a true creative vision of where they are heading. I relish the opportunity to assist them in steering the ship towards achieving those goals."

One Man Army And The Undead Quartet - Working On New Material

Vocalist Johan Lindstrand of Swedish Death metallers One Man Army And The Undead Quartet has issued the folowing update:

"2010 will mark the beginning of a new era for us. With a brand new line up we will record a brand new album. The 3rd of January we kinda woke up after a couple of months of silence and rest. It has been great to just relax all this time and not thinking of anything else but to recharge the batteries. But at one point you need to get back on track.

We actually went to the rehearsal room and picked up 2 brand new songs written by guitarist Jonas Blom. They sound pretty different to what we have done before and they feel great. Time will tell how they will sound with vocals but I have a lot of cool stuff in mind. We already have like 3-4 songs to work with at the moment so we will definitely be ready to record in a couple of months. I hope you will join us on another ride."

Vreid - Guitarist Leaves, Replaced By Ex-Windir Member

Norwegian black'n'rollers Vreid have announced the departure of guitarist Ese and his replacement by Stian "Strom" Bakketeig, who also performs in Cor Scorpii and Mistur and was - alongside with the three remaining members of Vreid - a part of Windir until the death of frontman Terje "Valfar" Bakken in 2004. The statement of the band reads as follows:

"In late December we got the news from Ese that he could not continue to play with Vreid. This was of course very sad news, as Ese has been a member of Vreid since the beginning in 2004. We respect his decision, and want to thank him for all his great work during the 5 years, 4 album and almost 200 shows for the Vreid brigade.

After the news from Ese, we immediately had a band meeting to look into the situation. 2009 was a demanding and hard working year for Vreid, and it doesn't seem as 2010 will be in any different. We will do a lot of shows, and we will spend a lot of time recording our 5th album. This meant that we had to start looking for a new guitarist.
Our first choice was a choice without discussions. We asked Stian Bakketeig aka Strom to join us. To our delight he was ready for the task, and is now officially the new Vreid guitarist. We have known Strom since the early 1990's, and he joined our previous band Ulcus back in 1996, later on we played with him for several years in Windir. Strom was our number 1 choice as he is the best guitar player we know, the social connection is perfect, and we have a strong history together.

We will use the first 2 months of 2010 working on new material and rehearsing our live set with Strom. We have made a list of songs that we will rehearse to play live. This list consist of songs we haven't played in a long while an also songs we have never played live before. We will do our first live shows with Strom in March, and give you more info about this soon."

The entire press release with statements by Ese and Strom can be found here.

Mourning Beloveth - Line-Up Changes

Mourning Beloveth have posted the following year recap, announcing the departure of original guitarist Brian Delaney and future plans:

"As 2009 withers and dies on its arse, we take this opportunity to dwell on what has been a busy and rather eventful year in the world of Mourning Beloveth.

On the live front, April 09 saw us finally back on the road in Europe, the "Milestones of Misery" tour saw us fulfill our commitment to reschedule the 11th Hour postponement of 08's "Age of Disease" tour dates. Along with our partners of alcohol induced Doom, Mournful Congregation and Longing For Dawn, this jaunt proved a great success, both in new and more familiar cities, and was the first major project since agreeing a booking deal with Lugga Music.

Aside from this series of dates, 2009 also saw us play some special one of performances, including a special support slot to our cousins Primordial in the second of they're soon to be legendary Dublin Button Factory showcases, the eh, "experiment" that was the Lowend festival and in October, our biggest gig yet on home soil as support to the behemoth that is Opeth, in Dublin's legendary Olympia Theater. These one off gigs also saw us renew our successful partnership with Derrick "Murph" Murphy as our sound engineer, one that will continue into the future, whatever that may be...

The Olympia gig was a special gig for us within the band for another, more personal reason. After more than a decade of inebriation and abuse, adventure and struggle, and 4 albums straight from the heart, Brian has decided that his journey with us as an active part of MB has run its course. Not an easy decision, those of you that know us know the major part Brian played in developing the unique MB sound. Some bonds are made not to be broken, and this is one of them.

But time and Doom wait for no man, so we are pleased to announce that we have added Pauric Gallagher to our ranks. Some of you may be familiar with Pauric and his work with promising Donegal band Decayor. After some time spent in the rehearsal room with Pauric, we are excited, he is excited. Onwards and down we go. Again...

Already 2010 sees a few projects in the MB Diary of Doom. Along with the re-launch of http://www.mourningbeloveth.com, complete with our brand new web-store, the imminent release of the split 10" with Irish gutter dwellers Wreck Of The Hesperus, April sees us take the stage for Doom Shall Rise VII, our second appearance at the hallowed Church of Doom and a gig in London in May with our friends Esoteric will see us cross the pond to our first show in England in maybe 5 years. See you at the bar."
