Therion - Vocalist Forced To Sit Out Select Dates On Tour

According to the band's MySpace page, Therion mainman Christofer Johnsson has vowed to carry on with the group's North American tour even if vocalist Snowy Shaw is forced to sit out a few dates due to his passport being stolen in San Francisco, CA.

In a statement sent earlier today, Johnsson said, "Just want to correct what was just posted by Snowy. There is no risk at all that we will be canceling shows. He may lose a few shows, but we will carry on those without him with Thomas doing his vocal parts. Promoters and fans that travel far can be sure the shows will take place and the only reliable source for possible cancellations of shows is the official Therion web page."

To read the full story go to this location.

UPDATED on 24 October:

Therion have checked in with the following update from mainman Christofer Johnsson regarding the stolen passport situation of bassist Snowy Shaw:

"Snowy got his passport stolen in San Franciso (as some of you already know). He traveled to Japan with a temporary pass and managed to get a new Visa for Japan. While there he has now managed to sort out a new American Visa and has arrived safely to Denver airport and will be making it to the show in Engelwood in good time."

To-Mera - New Samples Available

October 22, 2007

Hi folks

We decided to let you into a sneak preview of the new album "Delusions" that's coming out early next year. There's three brand new samples up on our page for you to check out. A full song will be uploaded in a couple of weeks, so hopefully this will keep you going until then

We've gone for a far more progressive approach musically this time around, and Julie's voice has emcompassed a jazzy style that befits the nature of a lot of the material. These samples don't even come close to portraying the overall variation of styles and moods, but will hopefully give you a rough idea.

Cheers!

Lee & To-Mera

Zyklon - Taking A Break

Monday, October 22, 2007

Returning from Japan marks the end of Zyklon's touring activities for "Disintegrate". Japan is always an awesome experience. We had amazing crowds, hospitality and, of course, lots of sake. Looking back on the general touring activities for "Disintegrate", we've seen many of the same clubs and people, but also some new places and a lot of new faces, which has been great. We made it back to the states, even if only for a one-off festival, we played the Roskilde festival, which was really cool opportunity for an extreme metal band like Zyklon, and we did a bunch of other European festivals, some smaller tours, etc. It's been a good run, and a particularly interesting one as Trym, Secthdamon and myself have also done a bunch of big Emperor shows during the same timeline. There have been both pros and cons to that situation, but all in all it's been very cool.

As for future plans, I guess one could say that it's a bit "up in the air" at the moment. Looking back there have been ups and downs during the years with Zyklon. We're not always an easy band to manage, as all members live in different cities and have multiple commitments on different fronts, thus it's often hard for all the logistic and practical things to work. This situation has especially come more into focus in the last year or so, where it has become harder and harder to get the band together when needed, with the spirit and excitement that one expects from a band like this. Basically, I don't feel that we as a band have the fire needed to start working on a new album right now. Therefore Zyklon are taking a break. This is a good time for us to do so. We have completed a good run of shows around the world for our latest album; we have completed all our contractual obligations with Candlelight Records (with success I must add, as Candlelight have treated us well, cheers mates!).

Also, the 'terror-twins', Destructhor and Secthdamon, have plans to go for it with Myrkskog, and will hopefully finally take the actions needed to complete their new, long-delayed, album. I truly hope they will, because this is the time to do it and I know the fans have been waiting for years, and judging from the pre-production material I have heard, it will be massive statement of intricate and brutal death metal. Trym is also working on a new album with his other band, Paganize, at the moment.

Personally, I have a bunch of material written and will keep on working on that over the winter, and basically take it from there. What the future will bring I cannot say at this point. All I know is that we're all active musicians and have no intentions what so ever to stop our mission of METAL!!!

To/Die/For - Taking A Break

On October 19 To/Die/For have posted the following blog on their MySpace page:

"Today we will travel to Russia Moscow by train. We are on same train with Charon so... it´s gonna be blast and we do not know are we still alive after that trip. Anyway, this is our last confirmed show and we really do not know what will happen for us then?
We still do not have a new label, we haven´t recorded new demos yet etc...
So our future is wide open... maybe we will release sixth album someday maybe we don´t who knows? Now there is gonna be other projects going on... Joonas is recording next malpractice album and there will be other "side-projects"coming too... If we will get a new label which would be ready to do real work for us then we will continue. Otherwise we do not. So let´s put our future this way anything can happen."

A few days later, the following was posted:

"Now we are back in Finland and I noticed here is a lot of worried people and I got a lot of mails. Calm down please, we are not gonna kill To/Die/For. Now we just need a break and we are hunting some inspiration... something new into our little thing called To/Die/For.
"anything can happen" does not mean exactly we are gonna stop making music. But still situation is that we do not know what happens next, when we start make shows again, when next album will see a moonlight... all we know is that we love to make music, we love to travel and make shows. Russia (Moscow) was so great. Metal militia guys handled things as real promoters and finally we felt ok after all those fucking shit tours before in this year! Thank you Russia, thank you metal militia guys and especially our friends Charon! Rock!!!"

Benediction - Entering Studio Soon

Long-running British Death Metal legends Benediction have posted the following statement on their MySpace-page:

"OK, they've talked and talked about it for long enough. The boys will be going into the studio on November 21 (booked and confirmed!) to actually record the fucking album ("Killing Music") at long last. It will be released at the end of March 2008 and a full tour will commence in April 2008 for God knows how long followed by as many festivals that will allow them to play!!! There will be at least 12 tracks on the final mix, maybe more, if the studio can keep them out of the bar for long enough. Let's hope they manage to stay alive long enough to get in the studio considering the mayhem they cause by just popping out for a few drinks together!!! Get the ambulances ready, it's gonna get messy."

The line up of Benediction in 2007 consists of:

Dave Hunt - Vocals
Darren Brookes - Guitar
Peter Rew - Guitars
Frank Healy - Bass
Nicholas Barker - Drums

We all worked together to create what I feel is the most accomplished Arsis album to date. It's been a few weeks since we finished recording and I can still listen to the songs; that's a good sign."

Catamenia - Postpone US Tour

The following was posted on Catamenia's official forum (but it's not an official statement) either:

"It is the hardest time after a long work and long discussions. And I am really sad to inform that we have recently had to cancel our USA tour after we spent months on it. The band and I, myself, are really disappointed now, since it is more than a dream to come true for both of us.

What we have been trying is to make the best for Catamenia fans. The tour was totally not financial one and what we wanted to make a long tour and visit every single town for the fans. But as I said I have failed to make it happen.
We had started working on time and found a promoter, it went all well and we got the confirmation about the dates. then it started to go worse, we have changed the line-up and promoter and dates for a few times. We thought it was best to post the tour in 2008. But some problems occured and we aren't left any choice except cancelling.

As I said before it was totally my failure. And I want to say sorry firstly Cata-guys, promoters, the bands we have involved for tour, club owners and last you, the fans...

Currently we are looking forward to see what our next step would be... You will be informed as always...

By the way I would like clear the things about "Rock The Nation". They are a great company in Europe, and we have decided to transfer European bookings to them. So Catamenia European booking will be held by Rock The Nation. You can still send me your questions about the tours and gigs.

And last, I would like to thank again Catamenia for still believing in me...

All The Best, Tunci / management@catamenia.net"

The band supporting Catamenia on the tour have issued the following statement:

"The Secrets She Kept US tour with Catamenia has been postponed until Jan./Feb. of 2008. However, now that the tour has been moved (unintelligently), it is not decided if SSK will be able to take part. More info on this later. Also, due to the cancellation, SSK will be booking a few shows to make up. If your in the area come out!! Keep checking back for dates. Lastly, the SSK Myspace page still has the cancelled tour dates up. We cant seem to get rid of them, so just know that that tour is NOT happening"
