Shatterpoint - Ink Deal, News From Upcoming Album
New York independent metal record label, Power Play Records, is proud to announce the official signing of Canadian thrashers Shatterpoint to a recording deal.
Fans will be psyched to learn that Shatterpoint is putting the final touches on their forthcoming full length album, "Dead Precedence" with producer Greg Dawson, which is slated for worldwide release in early 2006.
Shatterpoint will perform live at BLOOD Sweat And Ears: Invasion, Sudbury on Saturday February 4th 2006, in Sudbury Ontario. Immediately following the main event.

TME - A Project To Aphotic Records
TME - Vintersorg Guitarist, Fission Drummer Sign Project To Aphotic Records

According to TME's MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/generator666), the band started out as an idea of guitarist Mattias Marklund (Vintersorg, Casket Casey) and drummer Benny Hägglund (Fission) in late summer, 2002. Their goal was to create old school thrash-metal.
In need of a vocalist and a rhythm guitarist they invited Andreas Stenlund to play the rhythm guitar and handle the screams.
The first rehearsal sessions took place in the dark winter of 2002/2003. Several songs were written and Patrik Pettersson joined in on bass.
However, in fall 2003 the project was laid to rest for a while, only to return in full force in late summer 2004. Some more songs were written and in April, 2005 TME entered the studio to record the drums for their demo CD.
The result was seven recorded songs, which were completed in DeadSound studios during the summer.
The following update has now been posted at the group's MySpace page:
"We are pleased to announce that they signed to the newly started American label Aphotic Records! The masterminds behind Aphotic Records have another label called Blood And Guts Records and have among others released Mattias' and Patrik's project Casket Casey. You´ll find the link to Aphotic Records MySpace site down below!
As you know we have since recorded our first promo and have been rehearsing and writing new material. So, we will continue with that during the next weeks and start to record the record as soon as possible!

Loits - Vere Kutse DVD
"Vere Kutse" -- The Story of the Origins of Flak'n'Roll Now on DVD
The respective movie was put together for the "Vere Kutse Kohustab" album presentation party. After a brief "tour" of Estonia the band decided to release the movie titled "Vere Kutse" on a DVD-R, since the number of people who wanted it for their private collections was growing rapidly.
The movie features several interviews with the band and the people close to the band as well as rare footage of concerts and of the European tour. Now that the movie is over a year old, it can very well be called a brief but concise overview of the story of the origins of both Loits as well as Flak'n'Roll. In a nutshell -- 45 minutes of tears, joy and rock'n'roll!!!
At this time, unfortunately, the movie is only available in Estonian, but the band is diligently working on the translation, and hopefully by this summer also a subtitled English version will be ready.
The professionally dubbed DVD-R comes in a DVD-case with a colour-printed sleeve containing a foreword.

The only things Loits show barefaced hostility towards are injustice, cynicism, hypocrisy, ignorance and betrayal. We are far from justifying or propagating any acts of hostility; also it is our ideological principle not to spread negative feelings. Loits speak about the past, the present and the future without gilding any lilies or concealing anything. When singing about war we envision it through the eyes of the soldier on the front; when speaking of home, a citizen concerned with the fate of their homeland is speaking within us. Loits do not attack or monger hatred; Loits call for respect towards one's own country, people, history, language and culture. In the light of all this we don't feel like we should ask for anyone's forgiveness, nor do we feel that we owe any explanations to anyone. Being an Estonian and proud of it is not a crime. Mekong Delta - New Lineup For Upcoming Album
Mekong Delta (Ralf Hubert) has announced that it has formed a new line-up. Of course Ralf will still be playing the bass. Peter Haas has gladly agreed to crawl behind the drumkit once again and new to the band is guitarist Peter Sjöberg (also known as Peter Lake from Theory In Practice). Ralf has not found a singer yet, but he's checking out who's able for the job.

Atheist - Regroup To Play Live

Seminal technical metal pioneers Atheist have regrouped for a run of exclusive live performances.
Guitarist/vocalist Kelly Shaefer has reassembled what is widely considered the bands classic recording lineup (Shaefer, guitarist Rand Burkey, bassist Tony Choy, and drummer Steven Flynn) for two exclusive festival performances; Italy's Evolution Festival and Germany's Wacken Open Air. Shaefer comments, "We're very excited to be able to get back on the stage and play these insane tunes again the proper way with Flynn, Burkey and Choy. It's going to be very exciting and something not to be missed!."
Atheist will take part on Evolution Festival (scheduled for July 16 and 17 in Brescia, Italy) and Wacken Open Air (scheduled for August 3-5 in Schleswig Holstein, Germany). These will be the first in a series of exclusive festival performances announced. Shaefer continues, "We would like to make a great festival run this year and expose as many as possible to the music we lived and died for. Many thanks to the Evolution Festival and Wacken for helping to give many people who never got to see ATHEIST live a chance to see us one last time. Great news!! Enslaved has entered Amper Studios (Oslo, Norway) to record their next album which is entitled "RUUN". They've only been in studio for a week yet they already feel confident that this will be a monumental album! The drums are finished, and the guitars are being recorded at this very moment.
"The songs are stronger than ever, we've found the ultimate studios and the guys in the band are in very high spirits. Now it's just a matter of working as hard as body and mind permits" says guitarist and composer Ivar Bjørnson. First two song titles to be revealed are the two to-be video songs: "Path of Vanir" and "Essence".
"RUUN" is due to be released on MAY 8th 2006 (Tabu Recordings). The album will be mixed in Propeller Studios (Oslo, Norway) by Mike Hartung and finally mastered in Cutting Room (Stockholm, Sweden).

Lyzanxia - Enter Fredman Studio
Lyzanxia entered the Fredman Studio on January 9th 2006 to record their third full-length album 'UNSU' with Fredrik Nordström. 'UNSU' is the long-awaited follow-up to album 'MINDCRIMES', which came out in 2004 in the USA and a year before in Europe and Japan. Fans can expect more of every component that has been shaping the Lyzanxia style over the years in what promises to be the most accomplished Lyzanxia album yet. The band has already started recording the drums these past few days and are going to be in the studio for a full month. You can follow them every step of the way by reading their daily studio report on www.lyzanxia.com, where you'll also be able to watch short home videos of how a Swedish dentist pulled out a wisdom tooth as vocalist/guitarist Franck Potvin was rushed for an emergency extraction on the very first day of recording!

Jorn - 'The Duke' CD Details And Samples
MASTERPLAN vocalist Jorn Lande (ex-ARK, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) will release his fourth solo album, "The Duke", shortly through Germany's AFM Records. The CD was produced by Lande and PAGAN'S MIND guitarist Jörn Viggo Lofstad, and was mixed at Jailhouse Studios in Denmark by Tommy Hansen. Recording musicians include:

The teaser can be found at www.kalessin.no. The first tunes from the upcoming album are revealed along with the new line-up, introducing Thebon as the new vocalist. He was first seen with the band during their live shows in 2005 and did vocals on their eastern european tour with EXODUS and HYPOCRISY in December.
Keep Of Kalessin has also just finished recording a new video for the track "Infire" which will premiere in February.
The video was shot 100% green-screen and is directed by Rome Ramsies at VisionValley (www.visionvalley.com) who has worked with bands like Slipknot, Sepultura and Mudvayne amongst others.
He also worked in Weta Digital for several years during the making of "Lord of the Rings" and he also did CGI for the movie "Pitch Black".
