Children Of Bodom - Confirm Ilosaarirock Performance, Frontman To Be Released From Hospital Tomorrow

Children Of Bodom's frontman Alexi Laiho checked into the hospital with severe stomach pain last week, which later turned out to be a serious infection, forcing the band to cancel a few dates this past weekend. Earlier this morning, the band checked in with an update, and Alexi will be leaving the hospital tomorrow (July 12th) and will be back on stage this Sunday to play at Ilosaarirock in Finland.

Periphery - Streaming New Song

US progressive/djent outfit Periphery have posted the new song "Muramasa" online, which comes off the band's new album Periphery II: This Time It's Personal and can be heard in the video below. The new album is out now in North America and will be released on July 16th via Century Media in Europe.

McGalligog - Daragh Kenny Leaves The Band Due To Health Issues

Drummer Daragh Kenny has left Ireland's McGalligog. Daragh Kenny himself released the following statement explaining why: "Dear McGalligog fans, Daragh here, with the saddest heart I must inform you of my departure from the band. My reasons are absolutely nothing musical or to do with in fighting as with most departures."

Cro-Mags - Show With Sick Of It All Cancelled Due To Violent Incident

According to BoweryBoogie.com, a hardcore show as part of the CBGB Festival at Weber Hall in New York featuring Sick Of It All, Cro-Mags and Vision Of Disorder, had to be cancelled on July 6th when Harley Flanagan, founding (and former) bass player of the Cro-Mags, reportedly entered the VIP Lounge with a knife and stabbed and injured current Cro-Mags bassist Mike Couls in the chest.

Unleash The Archers - To Release 7" Vinyl EP In July

Canadian power metal band Unleash The Archers has announced that they will release their new 7" vinyl three-song EP entitled Defy The Skies on July 26th. However, the band will pre-release all the tracks digitally via their Bandcamp. So, starting on July 5th, the band will release a new song every week leading up to the EP release date. The artwork for the EP was created by JP Fournier and can be seen below.

Reverence (USA) - Streaming Songs From Debut Album
