Tankard - Enter The Studio To Record New Album

German thrash metal veterans Tankard have entered the studio in Buchen/Odenwald to record their next album. This will be their first album for their new label Nuclear Blast and it will be produced by Michael Mainx, who said about the album: "I'm really looking forward to go on the second round with Tankard to record the songs for their 30-years anniversary album worthily and sustain the successful and direfully work together with the thrash metal veterans from Frankfurt."

Blut Aus Nord - Delay Release Of New Album

Debemur Morti Productions has issued the following announcement about the delay in the release of the new album from French black metallers Blut Aus Nord: "Let's get rid of the bad news first: contrary to recently mentioned on our Facebook page, the last chapter of the '777' trilogy won't be released in May. Vindsval thinks the album isn't excellent enough and will work further on it. It is absolutely vital that 777 - Cosmosophy represents a fitting denouement to the trilogy. If all goes according to plan, it will be out at the end of September."

Sleep - To Reissue Dopesmoker Album

Southern Lord has announced a deluxe reissue of the album Dopesmoker from US stoner metallers Sleep.

The following press release was issued: "For the 2012 reissue, there are some very notable changes. The original studio tapes have been remastered presenting the album as the band had originally intended. The audio is clearer, louder, and at last brings a true representation of Sleep's hour-plus Weedian chronicle. Exclusive to this Southern Lord edition is brand new artwork by long time Sleep artist Arik Roper, to be unveiled in the coming weeks. Additionally, this reborn version of Dopesmoker boasts an unreleased live recording of one of the band's best all-time performances: 'Holy Mountain' from San Francisco's I-Beam in 1994."

The song comes off the band's debut album The Amsler Grid, which was issued last April through Year Of The Sun Records. "Purgatorium", a brand new song from Japanese avantgarde black metallers Sigh has premiered exclusively at Pitchfork. The track comes off the band's new studio offering entitled In Somniphobia, set for release on March 12th via Candlelight Records.

The 11-track album features guest appearances by Massacre's Kam Lee and The Meads Of Asphodel's Metatron as well as cover illustration by renowned artist Eliran Kantor (Atheist, Testament). More album details were previously reported here.

Angelus Apatrida - Reveal New Album Artwork, Announce Spanish Tour Dates

Spanish thrash metallers Angelus Apatrida have unveiled the artwork from their new studio album entitled The Call, which will be released on April 30th in Europe via Century Media Records.

The band's new album was finished with the same creative team as their previous release, Clockwork: it was again recorded in Moita, Portugal, at Ultrasound Studio with producer Daniel Cardoso (Anneke Van Giersbergen, Anathema) and the artwork was handled by Gustavo Sazes from Abstrata (Arch Enemy, Krisiun).
