Queensrÿche - Xbox Live Artist Of The Month

Queensrÿche has been seIected as "Xbox Artist Of The Month" for April to coincide with the release of their new album "American Soldier". Starting from April 2nd, the Xbox LIVE Marketplace will be the exclusive retailer for the band's new video "If I Were King." Xbox LIVE users can now purchase the video for a cost of 160 Microsoft points. Xbox LIVE users can also watch an exclusive free video clip of the recording session of "Sliver" featuring lead singer Geoff Tate and guest vocalist and soldier A.J. Fratto.

On April 13, just days before the kickoff of the American Soldier Tour, Tate and guitarist Michael Wilton will take part in a Xbox "Game With Fame," where Xbox LIVE users can play against the band members. Tate will be taking on competitors in "NASCAR 09" and Wilton will be squaring off against users on "Halo 3." The Queensrÿche "Game With Fame" will take place on April 13 between 1:00-3:00 PM PT. Visit here for more details.

"American Soldier" features a dozen songs inspired by numerous interviews with veterans conducted by Tate, who was intent on telling their story using their words. After speaking with soldiers who served in various conflicts from World War II to Iraq, Tate turned their firsthand experiences from the frontlines into an unflinching musical examination of war from the soldier's perspective.

Queensrÿche will launch an extensive tour of the U.S. on April 16 at the Snoqualmie Casino outside of the band's hometown of Seattle. The shows will be presented in three suites, with the band performing sets from "American Soldier", "Rage For Order", and "Empire".

Axamenta - Reform To He Came From The Sun

Out of the ashes of what once was Axamenta, sprouts He Came From The Sun.

The leaving of Peter was a widespread phenomenon, but as you will have noticed, guitarist Sven Deckers left the band as well. Though his supporting the band will not end, he will be focusing on the graphical part of it all.

Sven comments: "During the past year or so, my motivation and interests were shifting more and more towards my other ongoing musical project, City Of Caesars, and I have decided after a very long period of doubt, th at I would make place for someone who is way more motivated to take on the musical aspect of the band. It's what they need, and what they deserve. I hope in this way, the finish line will be made, 'cause it is going to be f0xing CRAZY!"

The band is currently in search for a new guitarist.

A 3 minute teaser of the new sound and the new He Came From The Sun line-up can be found at http://www.hecamefromthesun.com.

God Forbid - Guitarist Leaves The Band

God Forbid have issued the following statement:

"We are sad to announce that Dallas Coyle has decided to leave God Forbid. Here's what guitarist Doc Coyle had to say on the matter: "There have been a barrage of rumors and questions on whether or not Dallas has left God Forbid. It's true that Dallas has left the band. It's taken us a few days to confirm this definitely, and figure out what we were going to do considering the fact that we are starting a very important tour with Lamb Of God this week.

I don't want to go into the hairy details, but all I can say is that there was a mutual disagreement between Dallas and I, and the disagreement became angry on both sides, and he decided to sit out the tour the day we were supposed to leave. We later learned he did not want to tour anymore at all. Everyone in the band, including myself, was upset and shocked. For me, it's a lot tougher because he's my brother and I have a very close bond with him. We've done everything together our whole lives, so it's difficult to deal with emotionally but I understand he has bigger responsibilities at home to care for. I wish he would've handled it in a different way, but I am not angry at him for leaving if he is unhappy with our situation. I really hope he finds success and happiness in his future pursuits.

In the meantime, we've recruited ex-Darkest Hour shredder Kris Norris to fill in for the tour. We are currently doing a few warm-up shows as a four-piece to meet the Lamb Of God tour in Phoenix, Arizona on April 2. Kris will be there for the start of the LOG tour though. I've been friends with Kris for years, and have an
immense amount of respect for his playing. I look forward to playing with him, and I'm sure he will knock it out the park! Vocalist Byron Davis and I will pick up the slack with the vocals as much as we can. Thanks for everyone's continued support, and we'll see you on the road!"

Eternal Tears Of Sorrow - Part Ways With Guitarist, May Gigs Cancelled

Finnish metallers Eternal Tears Of Sorrow have issued the following update:

"Unfortunately, we have to announce that our solo guitarist Risto Ruuth has left Eternal Tears of Sorrow. The situation came to us as a total surprise. We have no information on the reasons or the background behind his decision. We received Risto's a unilateral declaration a week ago.

During the past week, we have done everything possible to find a replacement in time so that we could make it to do the confirmed live dates according to the previously established timetable. Unfortunately, it has proven to be an exceedingly difficult task with this schedule, and thus it will affect the confirmed live dates.

Eternal Tears of Sorrow will get on the stage as soon as the hole in the line-up has been refilled. More information on this topic will be published shortly.

At the same time, we announce the search for solo guitarist for the band. The guitarist we're looking for should be diverse, full of ideas and creative. Above all, his feet should be firmly on the solid ground, he should motivated to the task, and should be able to manage the role of the solo guitarist in our band.

If you are interested in this mission, send free-form application, info-packet and the call audio samples or video form, to: eternaltears2009 gmail com"
