Diablo Swing Orchestra - Drummer Quits, Ex-Therion Member Steps In

Andreas Halvardsson has decided to step down as the drummer of Diablo Swing Orchestra due to personal reasons. A statement from the band reads as follows:

"We wish Andreas the best in his future musical endeavors. The good news is that we have found a replacement and would like to say welcome to Petter Karlsson (ex-Therion, Holocoaster) as a full time member of Diablo Swing Orchestra. We've only had one rehearsal together so far but we were all blown away by his drumming so check him out on his MySpace. Petter is also a skilled songwriter so it will be interesting to see what he can add to the already twisted process of making a Diablo Swing Orchestra song.

We are now rehearsing to get ready for touring later this year, new songs are also in the making and pre-production will probably start in the winter. Hope to see you on the road."

(Also thank to BudDa)

Asphyx - New Bassist Announced

Dutch metallers Asphyx have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"Asphyx is pleased to announce that we have a new bassplayer. His name is Alwin Zuur and he already played in the old school death metal band Pulverizer (rip) and is also still guitarist of the Dutch death metal band Escutcheon. Besides the fact that Alwin is a very nice guy he's also a 100% true old school death metalhead who, just like us, only wants one thing and one thing only and that's playing Death... The Brutal Way without compromises.

His first show with Asphyx can be seen on the Hammer Of Doom III fest in Germany. Alwin and Asphyx already rehearsed and it was a great experience with him on board. The match was there. Alwin thinks and plays 100% Asphyx and being already a long time fan he stated himself that "A dream came true".

The reason why we had to replace Wannes were the same as always: musical differences. And since Asphyx is a non-compromising band we had no other choice than to find a suitable replacement.

A replacement in the very person of Alwin of who we think was the missing link. We however wish Wannes all the best for the future, musically and personally and thank him for the past 3 years.

We know that the loyal Asphyx' Hordes Of Disgust will embrace Alwin just as much as we do.

Asphyx."

Trigger The Bloodshed - New Album On The Way

UK metallers Trigger The Bloodshed have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"Hey,

It's been a while since we've posted anything, so we thought we'd start fresh in the New Year and bring you an update on album number 3!

So far, drums and guitars have been completely finished and are sounding the tits! Vocals are being recording as I'm writing this blog!

We are pleased to announce the mighty Jacob Hansen (Heaven Shall Burn, Neaera, Maroon, Volbeat, Aborted, The Arcane Order, Hatesphere) will be mixing and mastering the album. And as you can see from the bracketed section, he has perfected the sound of a healthy amount of ridiculous bands! It's going to sound fucking killer!

Keep posted for artwork, track listing and album title.

Studio diary to be posted soon."

Secrets Of The Moon - New Album In The Works

German Black metallers Secrets Of The Moon are working on new material, so an update on the band's MySpace reads:

"I started working on on the follow-up of Privilegivm (working title: Seven Bells). We are going to enter the studio in summer 2010. I feel it will become a very special album for the band. Much is going to change, much is getting even deeper and disruptive. We are alive.

Moreover I worked on some special releases with Stefan Belda (Prophecy Productions). People might not believe in the releases of Antithesis and The Ambience Of A Dead Star on our all-beloved format any longer but it's going to happen soon. And there's even one more oddity to be released. Everything occurs at the right time."

In other news, the band's live guitarist Michael "Arioch" Zech (ex-Negură Bunget, live Dordeduh) has joined the band as a full-time member of the band.

"After nearly 60 shows with this guy we can assure that he's the right person for this job. We always wanted the band to be complete again but we were careful. He went through a lot of highs and lows, through darkness and light with us. He succeeded and became a grand fellow. The time has come to offer him a permanent position within our circle. Welcome!"
