Ectovoid - Guitarist Dies

American death metal maniacs Ectovoid have lost their guitarist Michael Stewart. It was the band's label Hellthrasher Productions that broke the news. The band has released two albums so far, Fractured In The Timeless Abyss and 2015's Dark Abstraction. Michael Stewart was in the band since the beginning.

Grand Magus - New Song Streaming Online

Danzig - 'N.I.B.' Video Online

American hard rockers Danzig just shared a NSFW video (nudity and blood) for the tune "N.I.B." which is a Black Sabbath cover. The song appears on their latest covers album Skeletons, released last November via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. Danzig have also been working on a new studio album for a while.

Lonewolf - New Member Introduced

A few days ago, French metallers Lonewolf announced that guitarist Alex Hilbert has left the band for personal reasons even though he recorded their new album with them. Now, the band says they have found his replacement. Guitarist Michael Hellström (also in Elvenstorm) joins in as the new guitarist.

Entombed - Update On War Over Band Name

The ongoing dispute between members of the Swedish metal band Entombed over the rights to the group's brand name continues with a new chapter. Earlier this month, the Swedish Patent And Registration Office rejected Entombed frontman Lars-Göran "LG" Petrov's bid to stop guitarist Alex Hellid's trademark registration to sell beverages under the Entombed moniker. The singer is currently touring and releasing albums under the moniker of Entombed A.D.. Basically, Alex Hellid can sell beverages under the band name.

Wyrd - Releasing New Split With Kalmankantaja

A few days ago, Finnish black/folk metal act Wyrd shared with us their new album Death Of The Sun, still streaming here. But it seems like that won't be their only release this year. Iron Maiden - Ed Force One Damaged In Chile, Update

Iron Maiden's 747 Ed Force One was badly damaged in a runway accident at a Santiago, Chile airport. It was tethered to a tow truck to be taken for refuelling prior to flying over the Andes to Cordoba. On moving the steering pin that is part of the mechanism that connects the ground tug to the aircraft seemingly fell out. On making a turn the aircraft had no steering and collided with the ground tug badly damaging the undercarriage, two of the aircrafts engines and injuring two ground tug operators, both of whom have been taken to hospital. The flight engineers were on site evaluating the damage, but their initial report is that the engines have suffered large damage and will require an extended period of maintenance and possibly two new engines. Despite this, it shouldn't affect their concert schedule including the 2 shows in Cordoba and Buenos Aires.

Myrkur - Cancel Three Shows On Euro Tour

Amalie Bruun, AKA Myrkur, has revealed on Myrkur's Facebook page that the band will have to cancel 3 shows in Bristol, London and Brussels, due to her respiratory infection. Myrkur are currently touring with Deafheaven in Europe.

Rush - Done With Big Tours, Future Uncertain

Canadian progressive rock legends Rush won't tour anymore, not big tours anyway. Guitarist Alex Lifeson said that it was tough enough for them to get drummer Neil Peart to play last year's R40 tour. The trio has not discussed the state of the band beyond that tour. They could still play one-off shows or short runs in the future and could still record music but the future is uncertain.

Hatebreed - Former Drummer Found Guilty Of Murder

Former Hatebreed drummer Nick "Nickel P" Papantoniou was found guilty of murder, according to the New Haven Register. He was only in the band briefly (1996 and 1997). After re-hearing Nicholas Papantoniou's testimony in his own defense, a jury Thursday found him guilty of felony murder and two other charges in the assault upon Larry Dildy in his Hamden home in October 2014.
