Fifth Angel - New Drummer Announced

Official press release

Fifth Angel is pleased to announce that Jeffrey McCormack will be handling drum duties for the band. A sought-after studio/touring musician from the Seattle area, McCormack joins Ed Archer (guitars), John Macko (bass), Kendall Bechtel (guitars) and Tim Branom (lead vocals) to complete Fifth Angel's lineup.

Archer said: "Jeff's studio and touring experience is a positive addition to Fifth Angel. It's a tall order learning the drum parts our former bandmate Ken Mary put down, and Jeff has approached the challenge head-on. We're all on the same page and can't wait to see what the future holds for Fifth Angel."

Jeff was one of many musicians that called the famous Music Bank studio in Seattle home in the late 1980s. McCormack cut his teeth with many of Seattle's elite musicians, including the late Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains, John DeVol (Culprit) and even Fifth Angel's current vocalist Tim Branom, just to name a few.

Since 1992, Jeff has been featured on over 60 CDs worldwide. He's performed all across the United States, Canada, Europe and parts of Russia. In addition, fans may remember McCormack from his touring stint with classic metal legends Heir Apparent, as the band played sold out shows in Germany and Greece in recent years. But Fifth Angel was always a part of Jeff's musical style and aspirations.

McCormack explained: "Everyone has a soundtrack to their lives and Fifth Angel was a huge part of mine. The music on the albums Fifth Angel and Time Will Tell was a huge influence on me as a drummer and playing for Fifth Angel is honestly a dream come true. I can't wait to rock these songs live."

Fifth Angel will make its live debut at the Keep it True XIII festival in Lauda-Königshofen, Germany, on April 23 and 24, 2010. For more information on Fifth Angel, visit www.fifthangel.com.

Serenity - New Album Title Revealed

Austrian metallers Serenity have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"Hi there!

I think it's time for a little update - we're working hard on the new CD and I can tell you some details now:

The title for the album will be Death & Legacy and we're working on a historical concept for the whole album. Nine songs are nearly finished now so there are only two more songs left to write for the limited editions (one for Europe/USA and one for Japan). The songs so far are really fantastic! Bombastic, speedy and there's a great ballad as well. There will be some interludes and we're just working on the concept for the video clip. There'll also be an online single in advance but I can't tell you exactly when!

The album will be finished in summer but we have got no influence on the release date! The promo-pics are keeping us busy too and within the next weeks we'll have a big photo shooting and I can promise you the pictures will be something really special and new - no boring pics showing five musicians standing in front of a wall...

The next news concerning the album will follow quite soon, we'll have some guests on our new album as well - so have a guess!

Please be patient and we'll do our best creating a real masterpiece!

Cheers,
Georg and Serenity."

Augury - Part Ways With Bassist

Montreal-based metallers Augury have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"Hello to all,

After eight years of collaboration, we are sad to announce that we had to part way with our bass player Dominic "Forest" Lapointe. We keep in mind his outstanding musical input and volcanic stage presence, and thank him for helping to shape the sound of Augury.

But the show must go on and we are actually starting "The American Defloration" tour with The Black Dahlia Murder, Obscura and Hatesphere, with a very special rhythm section featuring Quebec City jazz player Christian Pacaud (MAG Project) on bass, and our long-time friend Tommy McKinnon (formerly of Neuraxis) behind the drum kit.

With such great personnel on board, we are eager to give American ears a good scrub once again!"

Leng Tch'e - Sign With Season Of Mist

Official press release

Season of Mist is proud to announce the fresh addition of Belgian grindcore act Leng Tch'e to the roster! The "razorgrind" band just finished recording their upcoming album at Parlour Studio in Kettering, UK with producer Russ Russell.

Bassist Nicholas Malfeyt commented: "We are very delighted and proud to be joining Season Of Mist. Being added to the same roster as Morbid Angel, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Mayhem, Cynic and other greats is a huge opportunity and extremely motivating and exciting.

Leng Tch'e clearly needs a label with an open mind when it comes to extreme music, Season Of Mist definitely meets this criterion. That's why we feel it's a compliment that Season Of Mist owner Michael Berberian absolutely loved the new Leng Tch'e material. This, together with his modern and realistic vision on the music industry, made him the obvious choice to be working with.

We can hardly wait to release our next full length album in this new relationship with Season of Mist, so you better get ready for the return of the Razorgrind!"

Leng Tch'e's yet-untitled fifth album will be released before the summer. The band recently stated: "This is by far the heaviest and most extreme record we've ever made, and if that wasn't enough, the legendary Mr Barney Greenway himself laid down some guest vocals on a little song called "Totalitarian". Brutal as feck, as they apparently say in the Midlands."

Read the latest blog entries on Leng Tch'e's MySpace for extra details and information.

Aeon - New Album Title Revealed

Swedish metallers Aeon have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"We are happy to say that we are now finished with our new album Path Of Fire. The album was recorded at the Empire Studio in Östersund / Sweden in September 2009. Mixed at Mana Studio / St Petersburg, FL, USA by Erik Rutan in October 2009 (and some minor changes where made in January 2010). Mastering was done by Alan Douches for West West Side Music. All artwork and layout made by Daniel Dlimi.

Path Of Fire is probably the most intense Aeon album up to date. And with a production that sounds more organic and "classic death metal" sounding rather then the nowadays typical "supermodern, compressed right-the-fuck-out of dynamics, loudness war" production... you are all in for a real treat. Folks... this is death metal!

Needless to say, we are really happy with how the album turned out and and we can't wait for you to get a chance to listen to it. The album will be released later this year by Metal Blade Records.

More album details and release dates will be announced later on so keep your eyes open."

Luna Mortis - Call It Quits

Official press release

Hello all,

I regret to say that as of today the band will be dissolving and we will be going our separate ways.

A huge thanks from the bottom of our hearts for the fans and support we have received over the course of the last 9 years. It has been an exciting and often turbulent ride, but everything must come to an end eventually.

Unfortunately, we will be unable to go on the May tour with Primal Fear, so our apologies to the people who were looking forward to hanging with us out on the road.

To our local fans, we will more than likely be playing one more Madison show sometime in the next few months, we'll keep everyone posted.

Thanks again,

Brian Koenig.
