Halcyon Way - Part Ways With Vocalist, Replacement Announced

Official press release

The Atlanta, GA based progressive metal band Halcyon Way has parted ways with singer Sean Shields due to creative differences.

Taking over on vocals for the Nightmare Records recording artist is Steve Braun, known for his work with Italian progressive-metallers Ashent, who have released two records via Lion Music.

"I'm really excited and humbled by the opportunity to jam with these guys, and I'm looking forward to help take the band to the next level on the new record" said Steve.

"We're very excited about having Steve in the band, he's got a fantastic voice and will have no trouble whatsoever with the older songs, he's adding a lot of new life to the material for the new album, and he's a professional in every sense of the word - he's got a great attitude, and our fans will be thrilled with our choice. The new album is going to be crushing and it will be a great way for Steve to introduce himself to our fans" said guitarist Zane Matthews.

Halcyon Way are currently tracking the follow up to "A Manifesto For Domination", which is tentatively scheduled for release in Spring 2010. The album is being produced by Jon Bodan & Lasse Lammert, and the drums are being engineered by Mike Froedge (Doubledrive, Bloodsimple, Dixie Incorporated) at Open Sky Studios in Atlanta, GA. The band also just completed tracking a guest appearance by Pamela Moore of Queensrÿche fame.

The band will not miss any scheduled shows due to the move, and is scheduled to play at Pathfinder Metalfest on October 24, 2009 with Aska, Twisted Tower Dire, and many other acts. Halcyon Way has appeared at Rocklahoma on three occasions, Nightmare Metal Festival II, and at ProgPower USA twice, as well as having shared the stage with Helloween, Strapping Young Lad, Kamelot, Symphony X, Doro, and many others.

Halcyon Way released their debut record, "A Manifesto For Domination" on Nightmare Records on November 11, 2008 to rave critical reviews. The album was produced by guitarist Jon Bodan with assistance from James Murphy (Testament, Death, Obituary), and was mixed by Lasse Lammert (Alestorm). It also featured guest appearances from Jonah Weingarten (Pyramaze, Avian) and Blaze Pearson (The Souls Unrest).

Glorior Belli - Line-Up Changes

French metallers Glorior Belli have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"Summer time is now over and after a short trial of faith, Glorior Belli again shall rise!

As always there is a change in the line-up, only this time we proudly welcome two very promising American fellows, also involved in a deadly well-known project called Unearthly Trance.

Our comrades from New York respectively named Jay and Darren will take care of the rythm section (understand bass and drums) full time. Chris (aka Alastor) and Julien (aka Infestvvs) will still handle the guitar/vocals duties like they used to. We all decided to let go of our nicknames for obvious reasons.

Therefore, Glorior Belli should probably be able to give a few live shows in a while, assuming "you" understand the logistic it now requires. Thunderdome Touring (Dan) remains our booking agency in North-America. In any case interested people should get in touch as always through our regular email: gloriorbelli hotmail com.

Also, the four of us will most likely start working on some new tunes soon, but more on that later, as good things come to whose who wait."

Krallice - Complete Work On New Album, New Song Online

Official press release

Krallice have completed work on their new album "Dimensional Bleedthrough".

Featuring guitar wizard Mick Barr (Ocrilim, Orthrelm, etc...) and New York's new renaissance/man-of-all-trades within the underground metal scene Colin Marston (Dysrhythmia, Gorguts, Behold... The Arctopus, etc...) and now rounded as a full-line up with drummer Lev Weinstein (Bloody Panda) and bass player Nick McMaster (Astomatous), Krallice have created an album that goes much beyond the eponymous debut and have taken their hypnotizing progressive blackgaze into more transcendental, epic, and ethereal territory.

Like the debut times ten, "Dimensional Bleedthrough" is a more intense and much more involved album with its myriad of insane counterpoint and guitar acrobatics. Indeed there is a lot to absorb with this album as there is no let up whatsoever in it's 77 minute discourse. Whereas in the beginning, Krallice was seen as the "black metal band of Mick Barr and Colin Marston" (for the record, they don't really consider Krallice black metal), with "Dimensional Bleedthrough" a more complete band feeling unearths itself courtesy of the stunning rhythm section provided by Weinstein and McMaster (who also does vocals on the new album) and has helped intensify the Krallice sound, one in which they have now defined as their own by converging the styles and influences from all said band members' respective repertoires.

Still the black/death metal influence is still inherent in Krallice's massive sound canvas, along with influences that range from such acts as Voivod along with the inherent familiar traits that can be heard from all members' other musical projects.

An MP3 of the title track can be heard via our MP3 section.

Look for "Dimensional Bleedthrough" to unleash itself on November 10.

"Dimensional Bleedthrough" cover art] tracklist:

01. Dimensional Bleedthrough
02. Autocthon
03. Aridity
04. The Mountain
05. Intraum
06.
07. Monolith Of Possession

Karma To Burn - Sign With Napalm Records

Official press release

Internationally known rock group Karma To Burn stars William Mecum, Richard Mullins and Rob Oswald who have written and performed Karma To Burn's #1 Mega Hit "Twenty", and top Singles "30 And 34" are pleased to announce their rock band Karma To Burn have signed with Napalm Records.

Karma To Burn has sold many albums worldwide. Karma To Burn, the original rock band recently reunited to tour for the first time in 7 years. VH1 has ranked Karma To Burn's "Twenty" as one of the "100 Greatest Songs of the '90s". Kerrang Magazine named Karma To Burn one of the top 25 most influential hard rock acts of all time. "William, Robert and I are proud to announce our new partnership with Napalm Records", affirms Richard "Little Dickie" Mullins. "We're thrilled at the opportunity for a renewed vitality for our rock band, Karma To Burn. We eagerly anticipate an unstoppable connection between the songs we work so hard on and the fans of classic, directly in the eye of the storm riffage that we make our music for. While trends have come and gone, Napalm has stayed the course and supported a loyal fanbase all over the world. William, Robert and I have taken great pride in doing the same. It's this shared passion for great music... spearheaded by great songs... presented in a timeless fashion... that's assured William, Robert and I that Napalm Records will be where our future hits find the perfect home."

"Who would have thought William, Robert and I would be working on a follow up to "Almost Heathen" 8 years later?" said Richard Mullins from the Occult graffiti riddled balcony of his lavish ...Laurel... ...Canyon... ...Gothic... ...Castle... "Not only are we thrilled with this new partnership with Napalm Records, we are also excited to work on this new Karma To Burn album for the creative opportunity artistically. We had unfinished business when our gorilla sized heroin habits took over, overturning our cars and our lives, there came an accounting in which we fell before the Grim Reaper as wheat in winter, as lambs under the knife, so it allows us to continue the musical journey we started early in our careers. As songwriters we cherish this experience. We're having a blast in the studio recording some incredible rock music. Our beloved ...Appalachain... ...Mountains... taught us musically that lightning really can strike twice... so we're ready to continue the Karma To Burn rock odyssey with Napalm Records, and soon all necks will feel the steely bite of our soul-thirsting axes, wielded by the unforgiving iron hand of the new Karma To Burn full length. All Hail!"
