Epica - Announce New Guitarist

Dutch metallers Epica have issued the following update:

"We are proud and very happy to announce that we have found a new guitarist to replace Ad as a fulltime member of Epica. We would like to introduce Isaac Delahaye as the newest Epica-member."

The band adds: "Isaac is no stranger to the band since he already replaced Ad once at a gig in France back in 2003. He also worked with Coen , Yves and Arien on "Project SiC" in 2006, but the most of you will know him from his work with God Dethroned in which he also worked with Arien. Isaac is an enormously talented and skilled musician and we think he is the ideal person to fill up Ad's spot and to make Epica's line-up strong and complete again."

Isaac stated: "It's an honour to join my friends in Epica and an offer I simply couldn't refuse. I've been following the band closely from the beginning, and it was great to see them growing into a leading band within the scene. I want to express my gratitude to the whole Epica-crew (including Ad) for the confidence they put in me, and I'm totally ready to rock out on stage and to help creating some great music in the future."

God Dethroned - Announce New Guitarist

Dutch metallers God Dethroned have issued the following update:

"You guys already knew that Roel is back in the band after 8 years of absence. Again we have a new band member in the ranks of God Dethroned. Already somewhere in 2008 it became clear that Isaac and the band would follow their own seperate paths again. Everything for our own private reasons, so we said goodbye as friends. Then we decided to record the new album as a 3 piece and look for a new guitar player later.

A few weeks ago we auditioned Susan Gerl (Murder Syndicate) and she proved to be the right person for the band. Professional attitude and a 100% metalhead, exactly what we were looking for. You can see her live in action at our first show of the year in Den Bosch (Holland) on March 21.

Last but not least, the new album "Passiondale" is finished ! I would describe it as a fast, brutal & epic soundtrack to a war movie. More news soon.

Cheers !
God Dethroned."

Wolf - New Song Online

Century Media press release:

Sweden's masters of kick-ass heavy metal Wolf are about to return in full metallic glory with their brand-new album "Ravenous" cover artwork]. As a first glimpse at what to expect of the highly anticipated new effort the song "Curse You Salem" has now been posted at MySpace, bang your head on this one!

The band reveals more about the track: "'Curse You Salem' is a genuine Wolf song. We think it's got all the elements our listeners demand from us and we're certain our fans will listen to it and go "Hell yes, that's Wolf"! We felt that while writing it, and bringing it to life while recording it was a blast. It will most certainly be included in our live-set. The song deals with the witch hunts that took place in Salem, Massachusetts somewhat 300 years ago and the lyrics are written according to actual events as well as real people connected to the events that took place. This song & topic fits Wolf like a spiked wristband on Kerry King!"

"Ravenous" also features a smashing guitar solo by Hank Shermann (Force Of Evil, Mercyful Fate) and guest vocals by Marc Boals (ex-Malmsteen). For the fierce and bloody artwork, the band once again decided to work with their long time cover artist Thomas Holm (Mercyful Fate), the band states: "He has the ability to "paint our music" and that's something we're not gonna pass up on".

Topped off by the phenomenal production by Roy Z (Bruce Dickinson, Judas Priest) "Ravenous" promises a heavy metal delicacy par excellence!

Wolf have also finished their brand-new video clip for the song "Voodoo", which will be premiered soon, so stay tuned!

"Ravenous" will be released on the following dates:

Germany / Austria / Switzerland / Benelux / Italy: February 20, 2009
UK / France / Greece / Denmark / Norway / Rest Of Europe: February 23, 2009
Spain / Portugal: February 24, 2009
Sweden / Finland / Hungary: February 25, 2009
USA: March 24, 2009

? rest assured, real metal is back with a vengeance

Gojira - Another New Video Online

"All The Tears", the new animated video from French metallers Gojira has been made available online. "All The Tears" comes off the Gojira's latest album, entitled "The Way Of All Flesh", which was released on October 13, 2008 via Listenable Records. The clip was directed and made by Spanish artist Jossie Malis.

Drummer Mario Duplantier comments: "We first came accross Jossie's work with his astounding animated films: Bend It To Machine and we really liked the way he told stories in a very mysterious and unusual manner. His enigmatic animations deal with serious issues and are yet always permeated with a sense of poetry. We, as music writers, are trying to mix very different emotional atmospheres. We are happy to present a visual/audio work that gathers the sort of brutality of our music with the sensibility of his drawings."

Paradise Lost - New Album On The Way

Gothic metallers Paradise Lost are currently preparing the recordings for their highly anticipated follow-up to 2007's extremely successful "In Requiem".

Vocalist Nick Holmes comments as follows:

"The album as yet untitled will feature around 10 tracks, among the titles are "First Light", "As Horizons End", "Faith Divides Us, Death Unites Us", "Frailty" & "My Last Regret" - these are subject to change without notice!

We are very happy with Rhys Fulbers work on the last album "In Requiem", but after working on 3 albums together we decided it was time to go for a different approach. After hearing the work he did with our "Anatomy Of Melancholy" Live DVD we decided that Jens Bogren was the man for the job. In February we will venture to Sweden to begin recording the album in Fascination Street Studios, Örebro, Sweden.

There is no full time replacement for Jeff as yet, but as far as the album is concerned, the drum stool will be occupied by another Swede - Peter Damin. Sweden hails some of the best metal musicians in the world and Peter is no exception, we really look forward to working with him and his input on the album.

Our approach this time has leaned even more towards the heavier side of things, even more so than the last. It is vital not to loose touch with our musical trip over the last 20 years. Our music may have had different facelifts, but it has always been "dark" and the new album will be no exception. Musically and lyrically.

Writing a new album is always exciting, we never get bored of writing music, and for me, it is the best part of being in a band. Each album is like a challenge to better ourselves, or at the very least, do something that's different to everyone else. We strive to make the ultimate modern Gothic Metal album, and for me that has nothing to do with the common trend of "romance" & "roses". It should be music to be murdered by."
