Against The Plagues - Line-Up Shifts

Against The Plagues have issued the following update:

"We would to clear the air and clarify all the rumors regarding our line-up changes. We had not yet posted any official statements regarding these changes because we had been busy with all our label-negotiations (re-mastering our self-released album) along with preparing for our upcoming video. Now, we feel that it is time to officially announce that our original guitarist Adrian Adamus (Forest Of Impaled) is no longer member of Against The Plagues. In short, Adrian had decided to part ways with the band (and extreme music) right now in order to focus on his personal/family life. We respect his decision and wish him the very best.

Now, we are extremely proud to announce that bassist Marco Martell (Malevolent Creation, Divine Empire, Kult of Azazel) is handling the guitarist position now and will be participating with the song writing process for the next album. Marco is an accomplished guitarist with the versatility, speed, and skill that the "ATP style" demands. We are very excited about the official release of our debut album along with the new material that we have planned. We would like to thank all the fans that continue to support our endeavors despite this harsh, economic state."

Against The Plagues is currently also completing a music video for the song "Great are the Eyed" filmed in February in Miami with directors Eduardo and Gregg Alvarez from Elephas Productions. The song comes off group's new album Decoding the Mainframe which will be officially release in Europe in March 31st via Vic Records. The clip will make its online debut next month.

Power Quest - Line-Up Troubles Continue

Power Quest have parted ways with their vocalist and guitarist, for a change. Here's the official word from the band:

"Power Quest has parted ways with frontman Pete Morten and guitarist Ben Randall due to musical differences. Needless to say: ''the split was amicable and everyone in the Power Quest family wishes Pete and Ben all the very best in their respective musical endeavors."

A new vocalist has already been found and the band is hard at work rehearsing new material with him. In the meantime, Power Quest is looking for a new guitarist to join the line up. Dedication, commitment and drive are essential, as is the ability and desire to tour and rehearse (one weekend per month in the U.K.) as required. Experience is obviously an advantage but is by no means essential."

More info on how to apply here.

Turisas - Recording New Album

According to a statement on the band's website, Turisas have begun work for their upcoming third album in Sound Supreme studio, Hämeenlinna, Finland - the same studio where the band recorded the previous album The Varangian Way. The new album, successor to the renowned records Battle Metal (2004) and The Varangian Way (2007), is due to be released still later this year.

Vocalist, songwriter and producer Mathias Nygård comments: "After a nine-month break from touring to be able to fully focus on songwriting, we've finally moved forward and have now started recording. It's going to be a long project, and keep us busy all the way until the break of summer, but believe me, the wait will be all worth it. With three years between albums, there's been enough of time to find a fresh angle and new ideas not to repeat ourselves or albums we've done in the past. The songs rock big time, but the epic elements aren't going anywhere - it's going to sound larger than ever before. The leap forward is going to be just as big as between Battle Metal and The Varangian Way. "

Officium Triste - Update From The Band

Dutch Death Doom metal band Officium Triste were so kind to post the following news:

"2010 is already 3 months on its way so it is about time to let you all know what's going on with Officium Triste. We've got some bad news and some more exciting news. Let's start with the bad news. We had to part ways with drummer Ronald Lagerwaard. Ronald simply couldn't commit to the plans we have concerning Officium Triste's future. Because of this we had to make a difficult decision as we really appreciated Ronald as a person and as a skilled drummer. As a band we do want to perform live on a regular basis and that simply wasn't possible due to logistics and personal affairs. We like to thank Ronald for his time in Officium Triste.

In the meantime we have found a replacement. After some serious brainstorming who would be an ideal drummer we decided to ask Niels Jordaan who in the past pounded the drums for the now defunct band In Age And Sadness. Since we shared the stage with In Age And Sadness several times in the past we knew Niels would be a good replacement. Niels gladly accepted our offer and we are currently rehearsing material with Niels.

Next to the news about out change in the line-up we are working very hard on material for our new, 5th, full-length album. Right now we have plenty of ideas for 6 to 7 new songs and it's coming along nicely. We hope to finish the album before the summer and have it released this fall. This will be our last album under the current contract with Displeased Records.

At this moment we are also negotiating a couple of festival appearances later this year. More news about those performances is expected soon."

Draconian - Band Update

Draconian has finally started the song-writing process for a new album. Below is the statement of vocalist Anders Jacobsson regarding the future of the band:

"Draconian anno 2010, a new productive era. We are aware things has been silent for a while, and that the possible developement of the bands' progress has been kept from the limelight. There hasn't been much to tell really. Things has been standing still for a while due to different aspects and circumstances, which I guess, in after-thought, was necessary. Now, however, we are about to rise from the half-light. We are currently working quite diligently for Draconian to enter the second decade of this new millenium with a boost. Already, things are happening and we are doing our very best to follow up on everything we need in order for the band to stay in peoples hearts. You can expect us to ring out loud for the year to come. Thank you for being patient and understanding."
