Origin - Ink Deal With Nuclear Blast

Official press release

Extreme Management Group and American technical death metal innovators Origin are pleased to announce the band's worldwide recording contract with Nuclear Blast Records. Origin, who are responsible for such genre-defining classics as Informis Infinitas Inhumanitas (2002) and Antithesis (2008), will enter Chapman Recording Studios in Lenexa, Kansas tomorrow with long-time engineer Robert Rebeck to record their Nuclear Blast debut. Rebeck's work can be heard on Origin's Antithesis and Echoes Of Decimation (2005) albums in addition to the A Coming Into Existence demo (1998).

"It is a great honor to be working with Nuclear Blast," comments founding member and guitarist Paul Ryan. "We are excited to be working with a label with such an amazing presence in the metal scene. They have some of the best extreme bands in the history of extreme music and we are very honored to be apart of this. We are eager to join the ranks of the Nuclear Blast roster!"

Drummer John Longstreth adds: "We are very excited to begin working on our next album under the guide of Nuclear Blast Records! Being signed to one of the largest and most successful heavy metal labels makes it only natural that you will definitely be seeing a lot more of this band. Plans are already being laid by Extreme Management Group for the U.S., Europe, Asia, South America, Mexico and pretty much everywhere with a stage and (future) Origin fans. To us, it's only fitting that after 10 years, it came time to make a few positive changes so that we could continue to create this insane form of music for you. We are very excited to bring album #5 to our fans and we feel confident that our fans will not be let down."

Ryan Caddell, who directed and filmed the video clip for "Portal" and the bonus video on Echoes Of Decimation, will be joining the guys in the studio once again to document the creative process leading up to the creation of Origin's fifth album plus capture all the behind-the-scenes mayhem.

Sounds good so far, can't wait for the album, if it's like their previous ones...we can only hope that Nuclear Blast won't ruin Origin like they did with a LOT of bands before...
