Well haven't they been releasing the new album for 7 years now? But it seems hopeful.

This is the first time they’ve mentioned actual songs so I think it’s a solid bet.

Exactly. That is what, for now, fills me with confidence.

You're not wrong. Look at the news from the past. They were supposed to release new album in 2017. In 2020 album should have been recorded. And in 2024 all they got is "several new songs". They're thrash version of Tool.

It feels like a lifetime now, but can't really blame them. I mean recording and releasing a full length album costs and an arm and a leg, and they surely know it's not going to sell enough to cover the costs anyway, so in many ways it's a tough situation for the band.

You've got a lot of guts. Let's see what they look like!

With five great releases under their belt, and "No More Color" standing out as the pinnacle, I find hardly care about their new release—like with Tool. After years of absence, it's inevitable the draining faces will manufacture draining music, eventually listening to such rudderless album. Again, not every band is Judas Priest and Iron Maiden.

Or it's Coroner's Chinese Democracy.

I say take all the time in the world. If they can pull the kind of routine that, say, Carcass did when they came back? I'm all about it. Take another year. Take two!

Dark Angel is about to overtake this record of longer waits between albums. They finally went into the studio about a month ago.

There are those moments when not every 80's/veteran/old school metal band can afford to go into the studio and put out a new album out at least a year or two like they used to. They're not Motörhead who used to put out albums every 1-3 years (save for a four-year gap between Rock N' Roll and 1916) before Lemmy died.
