wich band do you prefer , this bands have a lot of similar stuff all started by the great Children of Bodom
but what its your favorite and why

Children Of Bodom gets my vote because they started this extreme power style and the riffs and the solos are very original plus the awesome keyboard technique

kalmah gets my vote - they just do a little extra thean the others IMO - there melodic guitar and keyboard work is awesome, and vocals wise, i dont care either style they do, as long as it sounds good

It was close between Skyfire and Wintersun for me, but I went with Wintersun simply because their debut album was incredible. Now, they only do have that one release under their belt, but it was one of my favourite albums. The incorporation of some folk elements and of course, the black and death metal elements underpinned by the melody is very appealing. The album is just performed outstandingly. Skyfire comes very close though.

Children of Bodom are the most original out of the aforementioned bands, however their last two albums in my opinion have been rather boring, and most of their stuff gets very repetitive to me.

Only band what I like are ETOS others maybe some day and ETOS are 1000 times neter how others, specely of poetial wiew and from others I like maybe early works and sometimes, so I vote for ETOS

Kalmah. They're the heaviest out of them all. A lot of power behind their music. Songs tend to be catchier too.

Kalmah, I don't like CoB. and Kalmah is the best from that list xD

I voted for CoB
but Ensiferum and Moonsorrow are (black) folk metal and Wintersun is epic melodic death metal. So I don't see what they're doing between these other bands.

I voted for Kalmah, mainly because they haven't disappointed me yet. They're very talented musicians and they play great music. I also like Norther too, but i think Kalmah is better. I didn't choose Wintersun because despite they released an awesome album, i'll have to ear more to form a complete opinion. One more thing: Mors Principium Est, Skyfire and Moonsorrow don't play Extreme Power Metal.

Children of Bodom suck ass now, Alexi maybe a good guitarist but his vocals and espcailly the lyrics suck.
Eternal tears of Sorrow for me, I like their expermentation with symphonic keys, alltought it can get cheesy at times.
Kalmah, Skyfire, Norther, wintersun are also awesome.

some mistakes in the poll: Skyfire are from Sweden, not Finland.
Ensiferum do have extreme power metal touches in there music but arent extreme power metal.
Moonsorrow is Viking/Folk metal.

Well, I'll have to go with CoB for the impact they've made on me. Norther and Kalmah are probably better bands but CoB was one of the bands that got me into Metal, got me into growl and Extreme Metal. I've also seen them live twice, the second time was okay but the Stockholm Knockout Live concert is one of the best I've attended.

Well, that is fucked up now ...Cause I've realy decided difficult to choose one of all them...But anyway, COB for me...
Ensiferum, Kalmah, Wintersun, Norther...great bands. I like this genre very much, I think...hehe

about CoB thay changed much lyrics, music thay are comercial and also follow to time, I like maybe first 3 albums but nowdays lyrics are cheep, where are some lake Bodom insipration

COB and Wintersun tie. I really can't decide between the two.

@K7 Jimi Hendrix's style is very different than Alexi's, so you can't really compare the two.

I agree that the lyrics now days are kinda mediocre. They sound like they were written by Corey Taylor or something. Even still, I give AYDY the occasional spin.

i dunno if Moonsorrow is exactly "extreme power" (i´d rather call them folk metal) but i voted for them, because they are the only band i really enjoy from this list...

Nope, wouldn't label them as EPM neither.

Ensiferum gets my vote...might not be the most skilled band of the lot but I really like their folk touches

Children Of Bodom, first of, they created the extreme power metal. and second, they are one of my favorite bands.
but I don't consider Ensiferum and moonsorrw extreme power.

My favorite is Children Of Bodom, their first three albums, also first two of Ensiferum, Wintersun and Moonsorrow is also sweet (Power Metal?), while I hate other bands, they are just a copy paste trends, nothing more too me, just boring.

Wintersun has my vote.
I also like Children Of Bodom and Ensiferum, but Wintersun is my fav out of these!
Great guitar work and amazing songs. And Wintersun's live show is not dominated
by drunken people who're no longer sure of what they have to play! ;-)

I would vote to COB, Ensiferum, and Wintersun. I love epic element in Wintersun, viking in Ensiferum. Though COB is the band which has most stuff I like, so thats where my vote goes to. And not suprised why COB has most votes

I no way, shape or form is Wintersun Death Metal. Blackened Power Metal, maybe. But not Death Metal.

I voted for Wintersun, because I love the Black Metal portion of anything that has a Black Metal characteristic.
