Spotlight was Ramones cover, band seems put good album under Idle Hands name. Mana was awesome debut. After it band goe sgothic and softer and gothic and re write them selves, to me whit such sound 1-2 album and band are gone. Maybe they should go Tribulation way, that band wins, from DM to Gothic rock, here we can have potential go from gothic to dm. Also length I thought judging song tittles it be 1hour 15 , but it was 50min, OK

I find the album inconsistent tbh, it has some great songs, some half decent, and a bunch of unmemorable one's. It's still not a bad album overall, it definitely has it's moments, I just don't find it as good as their previous albums. Unfortunately, once again the cover song is what I remember most of all, which out of 17 tracks is not a good sign really

Maybe this album is the REAL reason why they were dropped from the W.A.S.P. tour

If I were WASP I'd wanna drop this lousy band as well.

I just don't find it as good as their previous albums.
Admittedly only based on one listen, but this is definitely true. A handful of really good songs, but nothing on the level of 'When Will Gods Work Be Done' or 'Heroin' from Strength.

I agree. The best songs were released earlier to promote the album.

Like almost everyone who already commented, this is a bit of a disappointment for me. While the album isn't bad, it doesn't really measure up to the first two in the slightest. I quite like "Momma Likes The Door Closed", "Flatline", and "Raigeki", but there are many songs on here that just play, and I'm not really noticing them. The cover of "Pet Sematary" fits them very well, of course.

Why this vocalist stopped grunting and shrieking between lines will forever be a mystery to me. Just discovered Mana earlier this year and I've come to absolutely love that album, and a big part of what makes it work for me is the absurd balance it strikes between emotional sincerity and tongue-in-cheek black humour, which is greatly enhanced by the perfectly placed—and executed—non-verbal vocalisations littered throughout. This, almost more than any other single thing (apart from maybe the near-exclusive lyrical focus on suicide) is what defined the album's identity for me, and by extension the band itself. So to then move on to their newer stuff and find that basically none of this remains in the vocals is disappointing to say the least (I know there is a bit on Strength—"Heroin" is shockingly good—but this album is another story entirely). It shows up extremely occasionally (in the first verse of "Raigeki", which not coincidentally is one of the best tracks here) so it's not like it can't be done - I've only listened to this album once so far but it seems like the band has a more positive outlook these days, which unfortunately seems to result in less interesting music. Of course I don't want people to be depressed or suicidal - but extreme circumstances can certainly be the catalyst for some incredible art, and it sounds (to me at least) like Unto Others' circumstances are less extreme than they used to be. I'll keep listening, as there is some great stuff here and none of it is outright bad, but it won't come close to their earlier material.

Why this vocalist stopped ...
So basically your disappointment in the album comes down to a lack of grunts?

Poppiest album of theirs but I don't think I mind that much. The guitar solos are sick and the whole record sounds great. The middle stretch seemed most compelling to my ears which is never a bad feeling, I find.

To be honest, I couldn't really get excited about this band until I saw them live. Something clicked at that point and I enjoyed both Mana and Strength a lot more.
At the moment too many of these songs just wash over me, but I'm hoping the same Eureka moment happens when I see them in February with Green Lung.

A pretty solid album, yes too many songs but its essence and quality are still intact, recommendable.
