i don't think that's true, it isn't the child's fault that his mother was raped and that he is the result of that.
And i don't think we have the right to make a distinction between the ones who can live and the ones who have to die on a basis that isn't due to the child.
my personal opinion is that the limit should be when the child hes developped a brain that can suffer. Here every child is equally treated, but when you treat child A differently from child B because it is the result of a rape then you kill the child for something he couldn't help.

i didn't say se shouldn't do it, i only said that rape shouldn't be the criterion to judge by. And every unwanted child will be treated differently, so that's not a criterion either. Personally i believe that the development of the brain is a better criterion because if a child doens't know that it has ever lived or that it is dying, then it's not harmful. So the raped mother can still have an abortion.

of course it is the mother's choice if she wants to keep it or not, but if a woman is raped i think that one of the first things she will do is a pregnancy test and the childs brain is developped in the third trimester (the last one) of pregnancy. so she has plenty of time.

I don't see how people argue about this. It's the mother's choice if she wants to get an abortion. Sure it might seem wrong, but theres shit you do people call wrong and continue to do it. No, I don't think it should be made illegal. I do think it should never have been made legal. Now we can't turn back time, but we must try to prevent any abortion. For the sake of the one percent of the abortions that has a good reason it cannot be made illegal as it is not up to me to tell 13 year old raped girls that they must keep the child. For the 99 percent of those who do it just for their own benefit I would wish it was illegal, yes.

When a pet suffers there is nothing that can be found wrong in killing it. But when a child is not suffering there is something wrong with killing it. Even when it is suffering, a child can be happy though it is suffering. A pet does not know what happiness is.

A illegal abortion is even worst than a legal abortion. But they are both very bad. In both cases a child is killed and with a illegal abortion there even is a bigger risk that the mother dies also. I know homeless with children(yes, in holland we have homeless also) and all the day they do just nothing but walking around with their baby, instead of drinking beer all day as they usually do. It made their live much better. And how a 15 years ald teenager would get pregnant without being raped has only to do with the fact that there is no responsiblity anymore these days. but no teenager would have to get pregnant anyway. Only a fool would have sex at the age of 15. No normally intelligent rational person.

I've recently followed the discussion in this thread, especially the one between Marcel and Aei Ontos...
I think that abortion has not to be generalized because it could come from different cases. Rape, particularly on a 12-yr old girl could justify abortion. And so other reasons, such poverty. Of course it's better to use brain, condoms and pills but, who knows, everything can happen. In my opinion, should be a decision taken by the parents. If they are poor and don't have a place to live, why do they have a reason to want a child?to ruin his life and theirs?
In general, I don't support abortion, but sometimes it has is reasons.
and Aei Ontos, yes animals can be happy. Some monkeys and doplhins also fall in love, for example.

I didn't say humans are superior. But at least I couldn't find any confirmation of monkeys or dolphins knowing happiness. All I could find was behaviour. I wouldn't deny yo that these animals are more intelligent than other animals.
