Bolt Thrower's For Victory needs to be in that list!
Also I'd add Edge Of Sanity's Purgatory Afterglow.
Keep making these lists! They're a great overview of metal's history

I will get to Bolt Thrower eventually, I swear. (now I’m worried they’ll be overhyped)
Yeah I will, it’s been keeping me clean and I’ve discovered a lot of albums I’d never heard previously and some outside of Metal I probably wouldn’t have otherwise.
It’s crazy to see how much it’s changing around this period, Thrash was king just 4 years earlier now it’s practically dead. not to mention has just blown up.

I made a list of 20 albums from 1994 on another site, here are some albums that might interest you.

Bruce Dickinson - Balls To Picasso
Fates Warning - Inside Out
Tiles - s/t
Black Sabbath - Cross Purposes
Queensryche - Promised Land
Saviour Machine - II
Psychotic Waltz - Mosquito
Savatage - Handful Of Rain
Threshold - Psychedelicatessen
King's X - Dogman
Soul Cages - s/t

To these 11 albums, I add Testament - Low. I think it's a really good album and James Murphy did a great job here.

I remember back in the day, Slayer's Divine Intervention comeback album announced, , highly anticipated, but it disappointed a lot of people.

Thank you, I still intend to listen to those that aren’t gross Prog albums.

Divine Intervention is a tough one, when I first heard it I honestly wasn’t sure if I liked it or not but it’s grown on me enough to get on the list and “213” gives it major bonus points alone.

Absolutely, the genre’s defining year perhaps?

gross prog?! here's an adjective I've never thought I'd see next to "prog".
Like I said, I made a 20 albums list elsewhere, I intentionally left 9 out. Two albums there were two of my all-time favorites, not just 1994: Dream Theater's Awake, last album with keyboardist Kevin Moore and Marillion - Brave.

All prog in the list above is not over the top, pretentious or "gross".

I kid, Prog just isn’t my genre. Not saying there’s no albums I like I just tend to like them in spite of their Progness, I even did a Prog list. I’ll check yours out.

People don't realize how diverse the prog genre is, a music genre that started in the 60s and is still around.
I just looked at your prog list, good job, I don't like all albums there, see, there's prog for everyone

It’s just the things I associate with the genre are stuff that doesn’t appeal to me like long songs, technicality and tempo changes that totally ruin the song’s rhythm I was enjoying
Truthfully I actually do respect the genre and there are a bunch of bands I really love, it’s just my favourite punching bag in Metal.

tempo changes is what makes prog... well, prog, it ruins the song only if the transition is forced, with no flow.
Not all prog is technical, far from it.

Favorite punching bag? There are far worse sounds and subgenres in metal I'd have a bone to pick with than prog.

Oh favourite punching bag doesn’t mean I think it’s the worst genre (that would be “White Metal” ) just means I like making fun of it. Nu Metal for example takes more than its share of crap, maybe I feel like picking on something else.

progressive music always gets it, ridicule and sarcasm, often from people that barely know anything about it, they probably listened to a Dream theater or Tool song and got annoyed or something.
