At home: PC, WAV rips, Foobar 2000, Fiio E10 DAC, and depending on the music and ambient noise I either use my full-closed Senn HD280s or my mostly-openly AKG Q701s. Driving aimlessly: The most obscure raw tapes I can find in my vehicle's old cassette deck.

27.05.2016 - 13:01 Written by Karlabos on 24.05.2016 at 20:49 That's why I rip my cds with media player or some other ripping/burning program (used to have one called Nero), check that the files info is right, place them into my mp3 folder (all ,p3 are in here), then put them into itunes from the folder. If iTunes ever wipes (it did once before, I think), I can just copy the whole folder back into it. I don't rip cds with iTunes.

At work: Spotify/youtube and headphones. My good ones broke, so currently using Sennheiser HD201s. On the go: Spotify and headphones. Occasionally use phone's default music app for CDs I've ripped. At home: Spotify, YouTube, Bandcamp or Foobar2000. Through headphones until I can afford myself some monitors. I've also listened to CDs in the car when I'm allowed (don't drive, myself). Tempted to get a record player and speakers but I haven't spent a lot of money on buying albums recently due to monetary reasons.

29.05.2016 - 21:12 Written by Karlabos on 24.05.2016 at 20:49 LOL! I started doing this years ago, so it's just a quick minute or so for me to do this with every new album I add. As for the album chronological order issue, you don't have to create a bunch of custom playlists to make them appear in order of release. I just put a number in front of the album titles to make them show up in order.

At home I pretty much listen to music exclusively on headphones (Audio-Technica ATH-A900X) via either my PC (using Schiit Magni Headphone Amp, Schiit Modi DAC & Foobar2000) or on my record player (Upgraded Pro-Ject Debut Carbon with Acrylic platter & Ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge connected to a Marantz PM5004 integrated amp).

Online - Soundcloud, Youtube or bandcamp. Spotify doesn't have services in India. Other than that, it's my pad. I sync with my laptop(both are from Lenovo brand) and all albums just go onto my pad. So it's pretty easy process. One click to "sync" button, whatever you want from laptop goes straight to my pad.

I usuually don't listen to music online. Instead I use my laptop, my phone, on long trips my old and cheap mp3 player, my cd player or the one in the car when I'm driving. On my laptop I uses itunes because the programme I used before (winamp) suddenly went dead and I didn't want to spend hours looking for programme to replace it, so I simply installed itunes and have been using it for years by now without problems. With my phone I use the VLC player because the app Sony has just goes downhill with every update. The sound quality of the app just keeps getting worse and worse and I notice it because of my headphones. I'm using Beyerdynamic DTX 101ie in ears which have a superb sound quality but only cost about 50 euros.

07.08.2016 - 19:34 Written by Wiseman's Fear on 07.08.2016 at 14:42 I think it's pretty good honestly, the interface is simple enough and I haven't had any problems with it for the many years I've used it. Since I was little, actually, probably been using it about 9 years (which is also about how long I've been into metal for).

I listen using either a FiiO X1, X3II, or X5II. I buy digital mp3s or flac files online from bandcamp, 7digital, google, amazon, or wherever. I also buy CDs and rip them to flac. I don't use streaming services and I back everything up on external hard drives. From a PC I use foobar2000 and Windows media player. I use FiiO EX1 IEMs and Phillips SHP9500 headphones.

I listen to a cd player because I have a huge cd collection...I think mp3 and so forth are a pain in the ass to try to use, so, I am old school all the way....I also love playing all my vinyl albums on a record player...Just me, I am so far behind when it comes to technology..

Spotify on my PS4, computer, and phone. It's the best, they have most of the new releases! If I really like something then I buy the album. I have this weird rule of thumb, where if I get the chills at any moment during the album, or goosebumps, then I have to buy the album.

Primarily CDs on my home stereo system or in the car CD player. I will stream Spotify from my iPad to a Bluetooth speaker just to check out new music. If it's something I like I usually buy the CD. I also have an old 160gb iPod classic with 22,000 songs on it that I will either plug in to my stereo or listen to on a pair of decent headphones, no earbuds for me thanks.

I am old fuck, I love CD and vinyls, I pay for my music well 80% of it, even half I got from friends, old school CD sharing, even it was back in the days. I have many things on tapes, cd, vinyl, but atm i have no place to keep, so its on parents and grandmothers house, but I say I will get my own house after 5 years max, then I will get all there. No place in apartment. I have no kids I dont need pay for their food or pay to my ex for bad sad mistake, so I can invest spare money to music, now most bandcamp, craft beer, cigars and pipe tobacco, and I can save maybe sek 5000-6000 per months (only few swedes can do it) i prefer windows media player, not Spotify. I think I help bands to buying. I listen albums: I pic up one band and go trough disco, but then new albums comes between. Then old essential albums. If band drops new song, I play it, same I am in MA go trough, new bands in bandcamp, good I buy. Old bands on YT what is hard to get. On work I play songs what I like, I have large list and copy one song on mobile , if I go buy bus I use old school mp3 player, I hate music on mobile) I also have one time folder on PC, bands what I think I will go trough disco one time and then keep, I chose randomly those and go buy albums, not whole disco as other bands)

I've been a Spotify subscriber since probably 2011 or 2012, so I use that mostly on the go with a pair of Koss Porta-Pros. I fill in the blanks with 320kbps MP3 when something isn't on Spotify. I'm not a huge fan of monitors, plus I live in an apartment so I use headphones even at home. I had nearly 4TB worth of music until I split with my ex-fiance when her glass of water "accidentally" spilled into the side of my desktop and somehow "splashed" causing a surge that fried damn near everything. Losing that much music in one go is traumatic, so now I stick mainly to Spotify even at home. It streams at 320kbps/VBR0 and I no longer have the equipment to discern if that's even true, so it's good enough for me.

Written by brimarsh on 01.09.2020 at 16:39 Yikes. I'm the same, longtime Spotify user, recent Bandcamp user, lost 2TB of music back when I misplaced a hard drive during a cross-country move. Thankfully not involved in an "accident" like yours but definitely traumatic enough to drop the hard drive collection going forward.

01.09.2020 - 21:15 Written by Troy Killjoy on 01.09.2020 at 21:04 It's a shame because I love having my own personal library, but I prefer the security that streaming services provide. Spotify is fantastic for things I like, but not enough to buy; Bandcamp has been amazing over the past few years. I don't have the physical space for a collection like I used to, so the option to buy lossless digital copies directly from the source has been a Godsend.

I haven't spent a lot of money into listening to music. In fact, I have a natural reluctance to spending money even if I can afford it. It's a habit I have from my parents, who both grew up in very modest families. Anyways, I mainly listen to music on YouTube or Bandcamp with pretty cheap in-ear headphones. They're good enough and are practical when I'm walking across the university campus or commuting by train. At home, I used to have a small portable CD player for the few CDs that I own, but it kept skipping and stopping briefly while playing, which was really annoying. So, several months ago, I stopped using that small player and found among my parents' stuff a relatively old radio/CD player/tape cassette player. It's too big and heavy to carry around, so I have it sitting on my nightstand with my headphones plugged in. And let me tell you, it has a terrific sound! I don't know whether it's the fact that it's a CD instead of a YouTube video, or if the CD player is so special, but I've had remarkable experiences when listening to CDs on this radio. The music has more space to breathe, the bass sound is really nice, there are no technical difficulties, no ads, no subscriptions. Every album that I own sounds way better on CD than in digital format. The downsides to CDs is that I'm afraid of them taking up too much space and it being a hassle to transport them whenever I move. But until then, I really enjoy lying on my bed, turning off the lights, and listening to that crisp metal sound coming from my CD player.

I'm old-school and I still mostly use a good old physical mp3 player. Last January I was lucky enough to find a premium player with up to 2 tb expandable memory for -80% and the beast has been my baby ever since. It doesn't just play music, but there's all kinds of fancy tricks that can be used to enhance the sound quality and with proper headphones from the same company it's possible to get even more extra synergy options. When I'm driving a car it's CD all day. I just enjoy it that way.

I check out new releases using Spotify and Bandcamp through my phone in to a pair of Sennheiser headphones. Or Spotify in to a Sonos ZP-100 in the family room. The Sonos sounds mint through a pair of Kef floor standers. In my study I have a Rega P3 turntable and old Technics SL-P222A CD player which I play through a Rega Brio amp and Kef bookshelf speakers. That setup also sounds very nice in there. I basically support three generations of audio technology.
