The previous wasn’t that good but the debut remains one of the best modern day tech death albums. Fo’ sho’ gonna listen to this.

Wow! I thought I wouldn't be a fan of those indiscernible super deep rumbling growls. But along with the absolutely magnificently complex instrumentation this album creates such a massive atmosphere! There's just so much going on!
Brilliant

A solid release, it has the perfect blend of technicality, brutality and melody that very few death metal bands actually achieve, and it's great musicianship all round, the bass, drumming, and guitarwork are all stellar, and the vocals are as usual brutal. Obviously my concentration levels need to be in high order for me to fully appreciate this one, just like so many in the technical death genre.

Nom nice and sound tech death. Far better than the previous album, but right on the level with the debut.

Wow. Yesterday it made it to #2 on MS's top 2022 releases. Now it's been booted out by a swarm of haters. Typical :

Not sure about the "swarm of haters", out of 33 votes only 4 are under 7/10. Sometimes the explanation is just that people might not like the album as much as you do. I think people tend to overestimate the vote abuse on the website, in most cases it's just that people with different tastes listen to the album and don't necessarily enjoy it all that much, nothing more complicated than that.

Yeah good point; maybe I was a bit too dramatic!
Everyone has their own tastes.
I'm glad to see this album get the attention it deserves

Some melodies in "A Lofty Grave" (track 4) remind me of Opeth. This album just gets better and better with every listen

Yep. I got Ulcerate and the Demilich burpy vocals too. Reminded me of Wormed as well. I'm not familiar with Chthe'ilist.

First impressions of this were good. Something I'll come back for more of for sure.

Chthe'ilist is a bit like modern Demilich as well

I usually like tech death a lot, but this album is not doing it for me. So, like mentioned by others already, I would say this is mostly a difference in tastes. Which is of course completely ok, it just is what it is

Interesting. I'm not a regular fan of tech death other than Nile, but I really liked this one

Obviously my concentration levels need to be in high order for me to fully appreciate this one, just like so many in the technical death genre.

This is so true, this album (and even their previous ones) does require your full attention to appreciate because the melodies are kind of "hidden" a bit. If you listen to this without focusing on it much and doing something else alongside then it just sounds like a jumbled mess. So in this sense this is not a convenient band to listen to. However if you enjoy listening to music without any distractions then this band is quite stimulating because while the melodies are there, they are very techy and somewhat hidden behind unconventional song structures.

Personally I love this band, I think they are very unique and they are masters at what they are doing and so far they have not missed. But they are best listened to while you are doing something very mindless so you can give them the most attention possible.

This one seemed boring. Only the third track stuck out for me. Also the production felt a bit off.
