Valfar. I can't think of a better musician than the one we lost in him. His music is unreal. When you listen to it, you feel as if he put extra thought and emotion into every part. The atmosphere to it all is excellent as well.

My favorite dead artist (guitar) is Dimebag Darrel, because he played in one of my favorite band (Pantera).

MY favorite dead artist would have to be either Chuck Schuldiner of Death or Randy Rhoads, though I think im leaning more towards Rhoads.

Valfar of Windir, Quarthon of Bathory, Dead of Mayhem and Euronymous of Mayhem.

I really miss hide from X Japan and I will remember his solos from Art of Life for ever... its just brilliant, but in a figurative way I think I miss Kiske the most (who for me is dead now, because he left the metal scene to sing shitty pop with the greatest power metal voice ever)

Valfar and Evil Chuck for sure, they both had unparralled songwriting skills.

Roger Patterson (Atheist), Chuck Schuldiner (Death) and Quorthon (Bathory) spring to mind, all of them had a very unique style, as a person I think I like Schuldiner most, but as a musician it has to be Patterson, one of the mot legendary metal bass players, who also was an important contributor to Atheist in terms of songwriting, often he came up with the bass parts first and the guitar team tried to work out their riffs around his bass parts. And Quorthon... as we all know he was a very influential and innovative figure who took things to new levels of extremity during the eighties, so I just had to mention him.

I would have to say Witold "Vitek" Kieltyka. I met him in Atlanta and he was just the most humble, coolest guy of all. And a damn fine drummer as well.

Dimebag... no doubt 'bout that. He's the immortal king among the dead.

Wow so many to choose from, but I would have to narrow it down to a three-way tie between Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir and Phil Lesh. Dead Forever!!!!

Either Cliff Burton or Layne Staley.

It's a tie between Bon Scott and Cliff Burton for me. Both AC/DC and Metallica went in new directions after losing Bon and Cliff, but their original stuff is what made them great.

Jon Nödtveidt from Dissection, he is for me one of the most powerful guitarrists with the sense of melody, the haunting effects of the songs has not been reached by any band till now, he is my fav dead artist, his music is art!!!.

So fucking true... Jon Nödtveidt is my fav dead artist too...
The first two albums of Dissection are pure art!!! And the gitarr solos are exellent...
