Heavy Metal has always had its fair share of occult themed bands and concept albums, with varying degrees of quality. Ridiculous and laughable, mesmerizing and haunting, and everything in between. There's always been a fair share of conceptual madness to our favourite music style, too, and it are exactly these two factors that Arcana Coelestia ('Heavenly Secrets' in Latin) combine on their genre-transcending Le Mirage De L'Idéal. I didn't expect this. After hearing their first, I was a little disappointed. But this album is my reward. Definitely better than the debut, in every way. Music, vocals, atmosphere.. Want more.

In terms of doom I can only think of a few bands that are better than Arcana Coelestia (Wormphlegm and Esoteric come to mind). Both of their currently released albums connect with me on such a deep emotional level it's mesmerizing. Duskfall might be one of the best songs ever made
