Hmm... I'd go with Vincent van Gogh. I really like a lot of artists from the Post-impressionist era. >:[

that's right man. most of the dead artists in metal have died in an accidental way. and almost no one because of big age. so we have not seen no ones completed work to have the ability to judge him..

Tie between Mr. Bakken and Mr. Schuldiner. Both had visions, both incredible music makers and both are tragically dead. While their are not many similarities between Windir and Death, they were both the result of one man's vision.

For me without much noise and shit !! Valfar !! i mean his the best singer ever existed !! and i miss him so much !! i pretty lisen to his music everyday !!and give me powerful feelings !! im plaining in future to make a tatoo of his name in some part in my body in the honor of this great legend !! RIP valfar

I was going to go with Schuldiner, but then you reminded me of Quorthon. It's sad that we'll never have another Bathory album. T_T

Dimebag Darrell (i love Pantera and his skill was amazing)

Vitek ( Craziest drummer)

Valfar of Windir ( genius musician, my favourite black metal artist of all time)

Cliff Burton ( like hell u won't pick this guy he's the soul of metallica , also the one encouraged me to play bass guitar)

Chuck Schuldiner (The one and only Lord of Death Metal truly one of the best musician ever)

Yeah, I'd have to agree with you about Chuck Schuldiner, Cliff Burton, Vitek and Dimebag Darrell there is aloooot more but not in my mind right now.

Outside of metal, it's Freddie Mercury. For metal, definitely Chuck Schuldiner.
