Now, don't rape my post, but I wonder what Kurt Kobain would be doing now if he were still alive.

I guess if you think about it, how many bands really produce high quality music for more than ten years, despite being around for thirty. What I'm saying is so many bands have their classical period but then lower the bar for the rest of their careers. Metallica and Megadeth immediately come to mind. But if either of those bands stopped producing music twenty years ago would the world mourn that loss?

My point is that we can wonder what some dead rockstar would be doing if he were still alive now, and feel that we're missing out on all his potential, but chances are we've already gotten the best.

Vicious was a legend, he may have not had a lick of talent, but he was part of probably the most influential punk band.

He was the guy Vivianne Westwood reccomended to Malcom McLaren to front the Sex Pistols. She told him to get that kid John who's always haning around the shop. He just grabbed the wrong John. (Lydon instead of Beverley)
Vicious' rendition of My Way is a punk classic.

Jimi.

(the Jimi with the last name Hendrix, in case of any confusion)

I've often wondered what he'd have been doing through the 70s and 80s as heavy metal grew, if he'd been alive. And how, if at all, metal might've sounded different for his continued contribution.

I agree with Codera the Great, Miika Tenkula of Sentneced is a legend, and the music would not have been as good without his magic touch. RIP

Don't give credit to where it isn't due. He may have been the attitude of the band (Although I give most of that credit to Rotten), but Vicious played bass for maybe one song on the album. The only thing he's really responsible for is bringing that whore Spungen in and pretty much signing the SP's death warrant (among many other factors unrelating). Steve Jones is the real bassist of the SP.

Ronnie James Dio, Clive Burr, Michael Jackson (not metal, but he worked with Slash, Eddie Van Halen and Orianthi Paganaris) and Dimebag Darrell. But there is also a dead artist whose death shocked me Mikka Tenkula from Sentenced. He wrote some great songs for his band and when Sentenced stopped its career, I was very sad, because the music this band played was very good.
