Ow! All three anathema albums in this list are not doom metal !

It's not as if half these albums are doom. At least they're quite borderline. And the bias for melodic death doom and gothic doom is obvious. Make of that what you will. I would personally include Mar De Grises, Saturnus and My Dying Bride, but definitely not those albums.

List shows good promise, though. Would be interesting to see where you went, musically, in the two years after this.

Nice list, but I disagree with Anathema being on this list, as those 3 albums aren't really doom... I'd replace those with Anathema's first 3 albums. The Dreadful Hours is definitely one of the best albums by MDB, though the other two (A Line Of Deathless Kings and For Lies I Sire) are definitely among their worst albums (I have those at the bottom at my MDB list). Haven't you listened to Songs Of Darkness, Words Of Light, Turn Loose The Swans, The Angel And The Dark River and The Light At The End Of The World? Those are all far better, but keep in mind that's just my opinion. One last thing: do you prefer A Thin Shell to Rain Without End?

Yep, that's what I thought as well. If he removes those along with For Lies I Sire, then I'll +1 the list, but for now I don't like the list enough.
