Personally I have a lot of albums or tracks that are objectively not incredible or just not good that I appreciate despite everything. I'm not going to make a list because I don't have everything in mind but one of the worst is the track "Payback" by Attila.

I get terrible generic breakdowns from bands like Make Them Suffer and Knocked Loose that stay with me all the time and the only way to get rid of it is to play the track on repeat a few times. Then I end up liking it by the end and it goes on my workout playlist, and the cycle repeats.

But for Make Them Suffer I agree, metalcore breakdowns are generally not very good but we come back to it without understanding why. For the shot of adrenaline I suppose. For sport I listen more to Iron Maiden or even electro. But Make Them Suffer reminds me that metalcore albums that I found average, but that I listen to from time to time anyway, I have a few. Notably Manic by Wage War and The Seventh Sun by Bury Tomorrow. Also the last albums of Disturbed and Signs Of The Swarm. I also think of Carcosa, Bind The Sacrifice, Any Given Day, Resolve and even Jiluka.

I find bad Metalcore easier to listen to than bad Black Metal or Death Metal though, mostly because they’re still undeniably catchy even when they’re not good. I’m seeing Bury Tomorrow next month actually!

The Path Of Totality by Korn will always hold a special place in my heart because it came out exactly when I was just getting into extreme electronic music in college, so a band I loved through high school collaborating with a bunch of producers I just discovered was super exciting. It's one of those albums I've listened to so many times that I can't not enjoy it, even if as I've gotten older I realized that with a couple exceptions, most of it is just not that good.
