This was my first time seeing Opeth. They still are amongst my 5 favorite bands. I have a whole lot of nostalgia and a huge admiration for their music so I was incredibly excited as I really enjoyed their latest album (and especially after seeing the setlist for the tour). I was starstruck by Mikael (and the rest of the band) and enjoyed every moment of the show. The sound was crisp and perfect, you could hear every instrument and every note. I chose not to wear earplugs as the mix was perfectly loud without being overwhelming, there was NO tinnitus after the show. One of the greatest shows I've ever been to and hopefully not the last time seeing them live.

If this show was your first time, you picked an amazing one. Opeth usually have a certain template for their shows. Stuff like the same announcement on every one, certain phrases in a country's native language for several countries (Germany's having been "Mein Hund ist dunkelblau" for more than a decade now), and depending on Mikael's mood, just silly stuff.

Idk if it was the fact that Dan Swanö was there, but I haven't seen the band in a good mood like this probably since the Ghost Reveries 10-year anniversary show. They brought fresh announcements to this one, even interacted with fan shouts. All that on top of the amazing sound and great setlist. Truly a night to remember for a long time. If they had played "The Drapery Falls", too, it would have been my perfect Opeth show

Oh yes I forgot to mention that Dan Swanö was there, also a highlight of the evening! I have been to a lot of shows (especially in Hamburg) and the vibe of this crowd was different, lively and energetic. This probs contributed to the mood of the band. I would have loved it if they had played anything out of Still Life or Watershed.
