Let's hope this will improve on the original sound. This is a promising band and I can't wait to hear that second effort.

More symphonic than technical I'd say but still an impressive album.

Yeah definitely feels more Symphonic Black in most parts than Technical Thrash. Can’t make up my mind if I like or not.

Nothing appealing comes out of them, for me to be honest. Both the record put me into sleep.

I'm expecting if they wanted to experiment on the symphonic or technical upfront, they should be properly able to stitch the parts this time.

I think this is the best release of either Cryptosis or Distillator by some margin. They have gone a long way to finally create one truly great album, and it doesn't matter whether you want to call it technical, progressive, symphonic, thrash, death or black. This is really something else. You can still hear the influence of bands like Vektor, Coroner, and Voivod, but now also of Nocturnus and Enslaved or Emperor. I know of no other band that sounds like this band does right now. The riffs are great, the synths add layers, the songwriting is adventurous, and the performance is excellent. I also love how cold it sounds. The fact that such a full sound comes from a trio is beyond me, and I wonder how they are going to pull this off live. Having said that, I have seen them live, and they sound massive somehow. Well done, Cryptosis!

Yeah, did not expect symphonic blackened thrash, but I'm definitely enjoying it

This is terrific. I played their previous album at the time and thought it was OK but wasn't excited enough to return to it. With this LP they've definitely stepped it up one or two gears and I'm drawn back.

The dramatic shift in sound caught me unawares - I really enjoyed the debut and was willing to bet they'd follow it up with a similar sounding record. Each song I expected them to return to a sound in the vein of the last album, but such similarities are few and far between.

This is clearly the more mature and innovative record, but I need another (decontextualised) listen. Once I adjusted my view, the latter half of the album sounded absolutely phenomenal.

Their debut was a very good effort and one of the better thrash albums of recent years, but this feels like 3 steps of evolution beyond it - every mention of symphonic, black, progressive, whatever else above is true, and there's still thrash and (some) tech elements still here. The way they bring all of it together into a sound that feels unique yet cohesive is boss, big props to them for taking this kind of leap

Definitely some ground breaking stuff right here. This band is looking to push boundaries, throwing some of our favorite subgenres in a cosmic cauldron. Definitely spin this one.
