I am a huge fan of Brutal Death Metal; in fact my favorite band is Suffocation (creators of this incredible genre). I've heard a lot of good comments and I've read a lot of good reviews about this particular band called "Deeds Of Flesh" so I decided to buy this album to make my own review and also to hear with my own ears if this is truly an almighty masterpiece as everyone says.

I'm not sure what to think, the album is somehow a little straight-forwarded, but it's also really versatile at some points. The drumming is really fast-paced and violent, so that's a goodie, the fact that the drums are so fast yet structured is actually impressive. Yes, the music in general is also insanely fast and complex, even though sometimes one song might sound a little flat, a breakdown enters giving a whole new twist towards the music.

Then we get to the musical abilities, let me tell you this?the drums drown almost every chord and line of the other instruments because this particular instrument sounds fucking ferocious, still what we are able to hear and appreciate clearly, sounds very interesting indeed. The intros are perhaps the best feature in this album. Every single intro is complex and awesome; all the instruments playing at their best, so when a song ends you will be actually pleased for what's coming next. Also, the musical performance is very technical and we can find complex leads, structured riffs, and irregular bass-lines.

It's very difficult to highlight the best song, but I can think of "The Endurance." It's a very powerful song with a lot of complex guitar chords and finally some drumming that sounds irregular with unusual beats (sometimes). Another good song is "Human Trophies," it has the most amazing pauses in a Brutal Death Metal song (4:21) (4:34) (4:49).

this album is more than entertaining of course, and it's really focused on the genre, so to the Brutal Death Metal followers I highly recommend this album.

Recommended if you like: Pyrexia, Vile, Antropofagus.

I would personally give this album a 9. Five of the eight songs are amazing (reduced to ashes, infested beneath the earth, human trophies, banished, and disinterred archaic heap), while two are decent. I agree with this review that the riffs have gotten more complex, but I think that the one thing about this album that I do not like is that the guitarist seems to go off on these tangents that have no rhyme or reason to the song. The Endurance is the most appreciated song by this review, but I would consider it the sole crappy song of this album.
