Omicron-Omega is experimental, jazzy, progressive, technical and whatever other bells and whistles you want to tie on to it, but underneath all the side-stepping prefixes you want to toss on, it's simply a primal, pounding death metal album. It's self-deprecating in a thoroughly infectious manner. There's so much going on progressively, yet despite Krokmitën always being predictably unpredictable, there's a rhythmic quality to them which brings to mind cavemen banging away with sticks and stones. The technical prowess and the image created by the title/album cover gives the impression this should be some complex, pretentious listen, yet it isn't. Oh, it's got a few of those calm, jazz influenced-ambient interludes, but as a whole it's pounding, catchy and furious. Omicron-Omega is a Lambo in a demolition derby.
Which all adds up to this being a bit of a chore. Omicron-Omega is a single-track, 50 minute album. Bad decision by this group. This doesn't have the same sense of adventure and continuity that you'll find in other single-track albums like Sleep's Dopesmoker or any Monolithe recording. It could have easily been chopped apart at so many points, but for whatever reason isn't. Frankly the album isn't so good it warrants sitting through the filler or trying to remember at which point that juicy riff came in.
Omicron-Omega is in-depth enough to be called thinky-man metal, but primal enough to simply blast your shit. The music is great, the 50 minute single-shot however makes this a hard one to keep coming back to.

Here's a review that gives some specific insight. I'm pretty sure it's never gonna qualify as a 'desert island' album for me, yet I just have to at least give it a shot.
