"Metal Casino" is the second album of Gianni Pontillo and his mates of Gurd under the name of The Order and this is already a nice confirmation of the potentiality of this band. "Son Of Armageddon" their first release was already a nice album, I can tell you now that it wasn't some kind of luck or anything else, "Metal Casino" confirms all my hopes, and this band is a great combo of melodic Hard Rock!

"Son Of Armageddon" was an album of punchy melodic Hard Rock and "Metal Casino" follows this trend. Just imagine some kind of Hard Rock, add some groovy riffs and some catchy rhythms and you will understand how the album sounds. On a side of course it's a bit similar to the bands which used to be famous during the 80's and 90's (Guns N Roses, Bon Jovi, WhiteSnake or White Lion etc?) but The Order has its own musical style too and even if it's obvious that the influences of the band come from these bands, I can tell you too that the combo from Switzerland has a real personality. To sum up, "Metal Casino" is like an original new album of old school music and it sounds good!

And one more time, I will talk a bit about the really cool Gianni Pontillo (if you don't know him yet, have a look on his original band too, Pure Inc). This guys is just great and in addition to be a really friendly dude, he is also (of course!) an amazing singer. With his hoarsy powerful voice, Gianni does one more time a perfect demonstration of his gigantic talent. His performance on "Metal Casino" is really impressive with a lot of variation and different styles of vocals without forgetting one important thing, the class! Of course the other musicians of The Order help him a lot, they're really good too but for sure without Gianni I don't think that "Metal Casino" could be the same release?

"Metal Casino" is a great album of Hard Rock! The release is well-written and uses a lot of different influences but in the end this is just impressive to see that a band is still able to play such kind of great Hard even if we are in 2007 (a lot of time after the apogee of the style). If you're looking for a great and powerful album of melodic Hard Rock, have a look on this release. In the style, and without any doubt, "Metal Casino" is one of the best releases o the year 2007.
