Yes, punk is still a thing, and it always has been and always will be. Just so long as bands like Kvelertak are still rocking, we'll continue to protest, and to hate this world we live in.

Considering what a nice surprise the last album was, I'm definitely looking forward to this now. Hope it's nice and groovy again

But hey, I was disappointed with "Splid" as well, but that album still contains some of my favorite Kvelertak songs, and so does this album. I'm not to fond of the second half of this album though, but maybe it'll just have to grow on me 😊

I understand, to each their own. Maybe I'm just a sucker for anything Kvelertak lmao. Probably because they're unique among other metal bands, just some Turbonegro influences, but heavier.

Solid album, pretty much what I expected. Not as good as old stuff but it’s hard to compete with their first two. I liked first and ninth tracks best here.

This band just hasn’t been able to capture the magic of their debut and that’s disappointing.

A sad reality, tbh. I really like their other records, mind you. But the difference is like at least one or even two points in rating (just to give a number).
But one thing they have going for them is their live shows being fucking tight. And their current singer has a far better stage pressence imo.

To add to what you said, guys are still talented. And it is logic that they, and any other band in their situation, can never release a record as good as their debut. The debut is only 1 album and the influence it raises can only come from it, even if they release a better album later people will only find the debut better, because it's the first.

Personally, I don't have any problem that they release weaker albums than the debut, as long as they are not actually bad musically, and yeah they still have got it live. And Ivar is awesome indeed, more energetic than Erlend but both are awesome. I also like that he added more of his clean vocals to the songs.

Not often am I too keen on listening to punk and hardcore. I respect it, I just don't particularly enjoy it a lot of time.

This album, however, is not only an exception to my rule, but an exceptional album in general. The way they have blended together the black metal and hardcore elements was quite impressive and it was a very enjoyable listen.
