Both Radu and myself have previously voiced our enthusiasm for highlighting metal emerging from underrepresented countries within the scene. In the process of writing this review, I’ve learnt that not only are Quantum Loba not the first Kazakhstan band featured on our site, but they’re not even the first one to be reviewed for the site.

I bet you haven't heard any Kazakh metal bands. Well, here's your chance to change that. Quantum Loba is a deathcore band from Astana, Kazakhstan. Coming from a country not particularly know for their metal music, which already makes this band quite unique, they play a very atmopsheric, djentier style of deathcore adding to their uniqueness. With deathcore being a somewhat saturated genre these days, Quantum Loba is a breath of fresh air.

This is much better than I expected it to be tbh, it doesn't seem like your typical modern djenty deathcore to me. Yes, there's some seriously powerful breakdowns, some nasty, gnarly death growls, and an outrageously heavy tone, but there is also a generous amount of melody to it, and the synths seem to have this remarkable unique effect aswel.

Considering how much I'm not usually into deathcore I actually quite like listening to this, perhaps the short running length helps in this regard.
