This album is very psychedelic, in the way that so much of the atmosphere seems to take you on a journey out of this world. That said, 'Runn', being the album that got me into the band, is a brilliant album.

Absolutely fantastic album this. One of the few from Enslaved that I still listen to. This one is like Isa and Vertberae in that it has prog elements, but also has a great atmosphere that adds so much to the music. Kind of odd how they completely lost the atmosphere for Axioma Ethica Odini...

There is nothing fascinating about Axioma Ethica Odini. It is also a far inferior album and perhaps one of the most overrated ones here on MS. Not trying to start an argument, but that's honestly how I feel. Glad you can enjoy AEO as much as you do and (I'm assuming) I absolutely share your love for Enslaved, they have released some all-time-great albums.
I'm curious however, how would you describe the atmosphere on Axioma Ethica Odini? I've listened to that album hundreds of times, but perhaps I've missed something. Then again, atmosphere is a bloody difficult thing to get or understand and even more difficult to describe.

And that's why I won't strive to do that

I guess that's reasonable. When it comes to AEO, I feel like it has no atmosphere, not just boring atmosphere, so you'd sort of be describing colours to a blind man anyway. Was worth a shot asking though, always great to hear differing view points

An album where masters can mix BM, prog elements and seems band understood, clean vocals can be an answer, emotional calm singing parts was amazing into this. Its hgard to get whit this but whit time, listening it works fine

Love this too, but Axioma is clearly the superior album.

The title track has got to be one of the best songs ever written that falls under the 'black metal' umbrella, simply phenomenal in both the compenents that build it up and how they're brought together.

It's easily the best track on the album and one of Enslaved's best overall.
