I like Whitesnake before 1987 album, but I dont like their lyrics all about love

different tastes I guess, I think their early work is great, it goes beyond Purple worship.

Not sure why the hate for 1987 since it’s by and large their best album. Their early bluesy stuff isn’t that good, too much DP worship.

that's a good choice - Jon Lord and ian paice are in the line up of that album as well.

the last two albums from the 80s are the MTV ones, but even those have a few great songs. If you like blues rock/hard rock, anything from 1977 to 1984 first.
