Mentally Defiled is a Greek thrash metal band formed in late 2001. The band was founded by Alex (guitars), George "IronBeast" (vocals) and George E. (guitars). Originally started as a cover band but later on created their own music influenced mostly by old-school thrash and heavy/speed metal bands.
The lineup, for early recordings and live shows, was completed with Geo P. on bass and Tassos on drums (- ex-Tears, ex-More Of Myself To Kill) up until 2008. Tassos then announced that he would quit the band, later that year. The rest of the band was hurried into the song-writing process and so the debut album 'The Thrash Brigade' was created.
'The Thrash Bridage' was released by Russian, 'Thrash Massacre Records' in 2009 and received excellent reviews. Unfortunately the band, without a drummer at the time, was unable to promote the album as it deserved, playing only one show followed by the leave of Ironbeast and Alex who at the time had to do their army service as well.
Mentally Defiled got back in business with the teaming up of Bill on drums (ex-The Crucifier) and doing some live shows promoting 'The Thrash Brigade'. At the same time new material was composed and some re-releases of the debut record followed from EBM Records (Mexico) in 2011 on CD, and on vinyl format in (2014) by ATA & Weird Face Productions (Greece). All versions were officially sold-out within some months.
In 2011 Mentally Defiled was included in a split CD compilation release from Old Goat Corpse Productions (Malaysia) along with bands such as Farscape (Brazil), National Suicide (Italy) and Division Speed (Germany).
In late 2014 band released the second full length 'Aptitude For Elimination' by Violent Solution Records & Weird Face Productions (Greece) on CD and vinyl formats. The second record was faster and even more aggressive having bigger impact and making the band more recognized by the genre's underground community. Recording line-up, besides the founding member trio was Vaggelis on drums (Sacral Rage, Necrovorous, Chanisaw) and S. on bass.
Currently the band is recording new material for their planned split release with Evil Army (USA), due to be released within 2018 by Destruktion Records (Germany).
Although George E. had to exit the band in the beginning of 2017 for personal reasons, band currently continues with Maelstrom on drums since late 2014 (Saboter, Fadom, ex-Ravencult) and Chris on bass since 2016 (Essence Beyond, Grinding Tank).
Through almost 17 years of existence, Mentally Defiled have shared the stage with many local and foreign bands such as Tankard, D.R.I., Exumer, Morbid Saint, Deathhammer, Deceptor, Revenge, Released Anger, Mortal Threat, Convixion, Overcast, Nightbreed, Slaughtered Priest, Abyssus, Rapture (GRE), Profane Prayer, Damage Case, Human Slaughter, Menace, Chronoshpere, Demolition Train, No Flame Candle, Holy War, Bio-Cancer, Acetic Voice, Exarsis, ConsPiracy, Steamroller Assault and many many more?
Mentally Defiled have always been an anti-commercial, anti-trend, loyal group of supporters and metal fans first - and then a thrash band?
