Edgedown , the heavy metal band from Freilassing in Upper Bavarian was founded in March 2008 by Andreas Meixner, Mathias Gassner and Michael Zebhauser

The first gigs were played as a cover-band during the first year. From 2009 the focus was put on original material - the recording of the first demo began, which was completed in 2010 .
Edgedown's musical style evolved into one best described by the term "Modern Heavy Metal", drawing inspiration from the greats of the genre such as Iron Maiden, Dio, Savatage, etc., but with an open ear to more modern influences.

The untitled 3-track demo was well received and several hundred copies went into circulation. 2010 also saw the arrival of current bassist, Stefan Rehrl.

In January 2011, the inclusion of Peter Ramspott behind the drums finally completed their current, stable line-up.

Many live shows followed, including as support for the symphonic metal bands Epica and Serenity and at the Metalfest Austria Festival (also feat. Saxon, Rage, Wintersun, Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth, etc?).

Edgedown signed their first contract with the renowned German record label Massacre Records in the summer of 2013 through whom their debut album "Statues Fall" will be released on 25/04/201
