Pain - To Release Live Album

Swedish metallers Pain have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"We've created a place for all Pain headz to meet up and discuss everything from Pain songs and shows to Peters beard and how much money Johan spends monthly on hygiene hair products. Hopefully we'll be able to answer some of your questions, ask you questions, and maybe we'll get to know each other a little bit better. You'll find it at this location.

Pain will only visit one summer festival 2010. But it will feel and sound like fifteen, he he. We will put all the energy, all the songs, all the headbanging, all the lights, all the power, all the volume, and all the booze we usually spend on a whole summer into one show. Which one it is will be official later this month (February)

The next Pain release will be a live recording made in Paris during the Nightwish tour 2009. It's from the same shows that were filmed for the "Monkey Business" video. If you haven't seen it, watch it here!

The first Pain album ever to be released in the US will be Cynic Paradise with a bonus CD including the Paris live recordings. The exact release date will be official later this month. Uncle Sam is about to get Painalized!

At the moment Peter is holding Europe by the balls with Hypocrisy, and after that they're off to Russia and the United States. How ever, the work with the brand new Pain album has already started. Hopefully it will be ready to blow your speakers by the end of 2010 or early 2011. The release will of course be followed by a headline tour.

See you soon!

/Pain."

Angra - Album Update

Angra posted the following on their myspace blog:

"Hey folks!

We are very excited to bring you these news! We are almost done writing the songs for the new album, and we couldn't be happier! There is a general feeling that this is gonna be a really great album. Every time I listen to ourselves playing the songs, I can't help smiling. We are totally into every little detail and small part to make this one of the best Angra albums ever.

The rehearsals are taking place at Ricardo's country house, near São Paulo. We don't have TV or internet, and phone signal is very poor, so we can't help but concentrate fully on the composition process, and this is intentional. We have a whole new set of challenges in the new arragements, since every part of them is being taken to the next level, both technically and musically.

We will enter the studio in mid February, and we'll keep you posted on the latest news.

Cheers!
Felipe"

Zebediah Crowe - Announce Release Date

Press Release

Zebadiah Crowe Unveils UK Release Date.

Following the Funeral Nation tour headlined by Marduk and Anaal Nathrakh, UK based Black Metal band, Zebadiah Crowe, will release their new album in the UK on March 1, 2010.

The new album entitled: Grawl! The Many Deaths Of The Great Beast is Zebadiah Crowe's third release. The album was produced and recorded in the UK by Zebadiah Crowe's most infamous member, "The Horrid". The cover art design was done by artist Adrian Smith who has showcased his talent on Sci Fi and horror book covers all over the world, most notably The Black Library.

Grawl! The Many Deaths Of The Great Beast will be released by North American Extreme Metal label and global distributor Apocrypha Recogreerds.

When asked about signing with Apocrypha Reocrds, The Horrid jokingly commented: "If Apocrypha has deemed it fit to go ahead with such a foolhardy judgment and feel they can deal with the fallout of adding a band like us to their roster... well... on there heads be it!"

John MacMurphy, who manages Apocrypha Records commented: "We are very excited about adding Zebadiah Crowe to our roster. The new album they produced is absolutely incredible! Between the polyrhythmic drumming, the different layers incorporated and the thick yet polished guitar tones, Grawl! The Many Deaths Of The Great Beast explores the more brutal side of Black Metal ."

The new album will initially be available at HMV, Amazon UK and Play. Shortly thereafter, it will make its way to local music shops and other retailers.

Further information about Zebadiah Crowe and Grawl! The Many Deaths Of The Great Beast can be found at:

Arch Enemy - UK Tour Dates

Official press release

It's the news that metal fans across the UK have been waiting for, for some time now - metal titans Arch Enemy are going to headline the UK... and they're bringing Sabbat & Enslaved with them!

Singer Angela Gossow checked in from the road to say a few words to the UK fans: "We strongly felt its time to visit the shores of The United Kingdom Of Heavy Metal again! We miss you, ladies and gentlemen! We only did the Bloodstock Festival in 2009. It was a fantastic gig and reminded us of why we love the Amott brothers' homeland so much. Even better, we are bringing the UK cult thrashers Sabbat with us and the Norwegian Sons Of Darkness, Enslaved! We will cook up a devastating setlist for this run and won't leave any prisoners behind ;-) Get ready for The Metal Hammer Meltdown attack!"

Arch Enemy have teamed up with Metal Hammer Magazine UK and Kilimanjaro for the inaugural Metal Hammer Meltdown UK tour.

Metal Hammer Magazine UK's Editor Alexander Milas comments: "It's been far too long since these shores were blackened by the ball-hefting brutality of Arch Enemy, so imagine our surprise when we heard they were bringing none other than the classic thrash of the almighty Sabbat and the prog-heavy viking metal of Enslaved in tow. It's an honour to hang our banner on what promise to be a truly neck-snapping series of dates. Mosh ahoy!"

Announced dates are as follows:

April 27 - Wolverhampton, UK - Wulfrun hall
April 28 - Glasgow, UK - O2 Academy
April 29 - Manchester, UK - Academy
April 30 - London, UK - HMV Forum

Trivium - New Drummer Announced

Official press release

New York, NY Florida metallers Trivium are pleased to announce Nick Augusto as their new permanent drummer. Augusto was introduced to Trivium fans when he filled in behind the kit on last fall's "Into the Mouth of Hell We Tour" trek. He is now stepping in to permanently replace the departing Travis Smith.

Vocalist/guitarist Matt Heafy commented: "We're really happy to have our good friend and fellow Floridian Nick Augusto join the Trivium family. Nick's drumming is very technical and diverse and he brings a real intense energy to the band and we can't wait for everyone to hear the new song, "Shattering The Skies Above", that we just recorded with Nick. I think it's the best Trivium recording we've ever done; it's raw, full of energy and I think Nick's drumming really pushed us to a new level."

The always industrious Trivium are wasting no time in the wake of this line up shift and are staying busy as they work their new skinsman into the fold. The band has recorded two brand new tracks: the aforementioned "Shattering The Skies Above" will appear on the forthcoming, digital-only God Of War Blood & Metal EP, as well as a cover of Sepultura's "Slave New World". Video footage of the band and their new drummer recording "Shattering The Skies Above" is viewable here.

The band will also head right back out on the road, embarking on a tour of Asia, New Zealand, Australia and the UK, which kicks off February 11, in Jakarta, Indoensia and runs through March 24 in England. This will be the band's final tour dates in support of 2008's Shogun. Once the tour ends, the band will head back to the studio to work on their next album for Roadrunner Records.

Triptykon - New Album Cover Art Revealed

Official press release

Eparistera Daimones, the forthcoming debut album by Triptykon, the group founded by former Hellhammer/Celtic Frost singer and guitarist Tom Gabriel Warrior, is not only musically a leviathan. Remarkably, the album will also feature the epic artwork by renowned Swiss artist H.R. Giger and New York-based surrealist Vincent Castiglia.

In an exceptionally rare gesture, HR Giger has granted Triptykon the use of his dramatic painting "Vlad Tepes" (work no. 412, 200 x 140 cm, acrylic on paper on wood, 1978). It is the artist's first authorized appearance on an album cover in 17 years, and the second time he collaborates with Warrior (following Celtic Frost's To Mega Therion album in 1985).

Vincent Castiglia contributes "Triptykon", a specially created portrait of the members of the group, painted in the artist's own blood (86 x 86 cm, blood/iron oxide on archival paper, 2009). As Castiglia aptly put it, the amalgamation of works by HR Giger, Vincent Castiglia, and Triptykon on Eparistera Daimones forms a creative triptych in itself.

HR Giger: "I am very proud to work with Triptykon. My art hasn't appeared on an album cover for quite some time, and I feel honored to have been approached by Tom about such a collaboration for Triptykon's very first release."

Vincent Castiglia: "It's been a tremendous honor to work with both Triptykon and HR Giger on the forthcoming release of, Eparistera Daimones. It was a project of enormous depth for me, conceptually as well as visually. I think the resonance between Triptykon's music, Giger's art, and my work is extremely powerful, and it coalesces in quite an amazing, and singular way."

Tom Gabriel Warrior: "We feel deeply privileged to be able to adorn our very first album with the work of two artists we respect enormously. To us, their astonishing contributions convey significant symbolism both with respect to our personal frame of mind as well as for this particular album and its history.

It is an immense pleasure to be able to work with HR Giger again. He was one of our most significant mentors during the days of Hellhammer and early Celtic Frost, and he is an extraordinary human being and an artist without equal.

Vincent Castiglia has become a close friend in recent years, and we both sensed that the time had come to create something truly unique together. I am infinitely grateful that he has lent us his incredible talent, not least because I know he incorporates as much passion, darkness, and pain into his work as I do, too."

Thine Eyes Bleed - New Guitarist Announced, New Album On The Way

Canadian metallers Thine Eyes Bleed have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"Hello everyone!

Been receiving lots of questions about our future lately and figured we were due for an update.

First and foremost we are still a band and have not called it a day. Our biggest task in doing this was to once again find the right 5th man. We have had a rotating guitarist for far too long. Don't get me wrong we have been fortunate in having some talented people fill the slot.

When we began putting the wheels back on the truck, so to speak, we made the decision to find someone closer to home, both musically and regionally.

Jimmy Reid will always be our brother. We love and miss him and have nothing but respect for him.

That being said we have found someone else to fill the void. With that we welcome Nigel Curley (Excruciating Thoughts, Ataxia) into the mix.

We been jamming with Nigel for the past few months and working on new stuff. We have a bunch of new material ready to go. We are scheduled to record March 12 with Siegfried Meier.

We are all very excited and can't wait to get down to business. Shows to follow."

Mortal Sin - Part Ways With Guitarist, In Writing Process

Australian metallers Mortal Sin have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"Sorry I have not been on here in a while, it's been a busy couple of months since we got back from our South American tour, which was very satisfying but incredibly hard. Many thanks to all the metalheads who came to our shows, you made us feel very welcome and supported our music way more than we could have ever imagined. Thank you. To all the organisers, promoters and townfolk, we really appreciate all the work you put into making the tour a success for Mortal Sin. We certainly hope we can make our way back to your beautiful countries again sometime soon!

2010 arrived and Mortal Sin decided it was about fucking time we got our arses into gear and started writing some songs for a new album. We are notoriously slow writers, but many of you who may have heard the new song "Deny" that we have been road testing at our shows, will agree that we could be onto something special here. Like many thrash bands we feel strongly about our thrash roots and want to create an album of pure thrash. If we could combine Kreator's Hordes Of Chaos, Testament's Formation Of The Damnation and Overkill's newie Ironbound into a huge melting pot, that would be the kind of album we wanna make!

Unfortunately though our great friend and Maestro guitarist Mick Sultana has decided to call it a day, citing personal reasons for his decision to leave the band. We love you like a brother Mick and we've had some awesome shows with you, we wish you the best for whatever you choose to do. Your songs will be in the heads of our fans for a long long time to come. Fucking legend!

On the home front, my brother had a successful kidney transplant the day we left Australia for our South American tour. He is feeling great and less than three months after the operation is back at work. Fucking legend!

Not so good news is today I found out my nephew took his own life yesterday. Tragic, very tragic loss of a 22yr olds life! RIP Keiran! Hopefully all the pain is now left behind.

Seeya,
Mat."
