Rage - Release Date For New Album

The release date of the new Rage album "Carved In Stone" has been set. Nuclear Blast will release the CD on 22nd of February 2008.

Rage guitarist Victor Smolski previously stated about the upcoming CD: "From the beginning we decided to compose the songs for this CD more straight, concentrating on cool riffs and catchy melodies. Actually, with our new lineup it was easy to realize everything, as we pulled together with André Hilgers on drums perfectly! All the recordings with our co-producer, sound engineer and almost fourth band member Charly Czajkowski runs perfectly, as well as the final mix with Charlie Bauerfeind. From my point of view I promise you brutal guitar riffs with fancy soli. In one song, I've hidden a modification of a real famous melody ? the one who will first recognize this melody will get a present! At 'Open My Grave', my sitar guitar came into operation, at 'Lord of the Flies', I've contributed a phat keyboard arrangement."

Other song titles set to appear on the CD include "Carved in Stone", "Drop Dead", "Gentle Murders", "One Step Ahead" and "Without You"

Visions Of Atlantis - Part Ways With Two Members, Kamelot Tour Cancelled

The following message, regarding the departure of vocalist Melissa Ferlaak and guitarist Wolfgang Koch, was posted on the official website of Symphonic Metallers Visions Of Atlantis:

"Yes, you read right, Melissa, as well as her boyfriend Wolfgang are not in Visions of Atlantis anymore. We were as much shocked about that as you must be, but it is the sad truth. Some people just don't know what the word commitment means...

We (the remaining rest of VoA) want to appologize to all fans out there who believed in us and supported us, we hope you stay loyal with VoA. Of course we are trying to find a substitute for Melissa, we already have one for Wolfgang (to be announced soon). The show must go on... "

The statements from both Melissa and Wolfgang can be read here.

In the meantime, Thomas Caser, the band's drummer & management, has posted the following statement:

"Kamelot tour is cancelled, they are already looking for a replacement. So to all who have been looking forward to see Visions of Atlantis live - please don't blame it on Visions of Atlantis. Visions of Atlantis will continue and we hope that you all stay with us!

BUT we have some good news for you - our friend WERNER FIEDLER is back in the band! He was mainly responsible for the songwriting of the first two records and we are happy that he's back!!!"

Satyricon - Frost Breaks Leg

Satyricon performance at Arnhem Metal Meeting cancelled.
It is with deep regret we have to inform you that Frost broke his leg yesterday morning. As a result of this, our headlining performance at Arnhem Metal Meeting has been cancelled. It was a freak accident where he simply slipped on ice and snow covered surface, fell to the ground with his foot in a twisted position, and broke it. This was obviously very bad news given our scheduled show at Arnhem Metal Meeting this coming Saturday. However, with Frosts history of actually playing 10 shows in a row on our European Tour in 2003 with a broken foot, we were hoping he could pull this one off as well. Doctors said last night they wanted to keep him at the hospital over night for observation and we agreed on making a desicion as to whether he could do the show, today. Unfortunately we have been informed today that his brake is so complicated that it needs surgery which will take place shortly. They intend to keep him hospitalized for at least one week. Perhaps two.

We apologize for the inconvenience this causes to our fans and the festival. As Satyricon is also in the midst of rehearsing a new album, we will to have take an unwanted break from that. We will re-organzise and put our attention into other parts of the album-making process to ensure no delays. Have a great festival and join us in wishing Frost a speedy recovery.

To-Mera - New Album Details Revealed

Candlelight Records have issued the following press release:

"In the 18 months since the release of their debut album "Transcendental", To-Mera have already forged forward to sit amongst the cream of the progressive metal crop. Prestigious support slots with the likes of Dream Theater and Emperor, plus numerous high profile European festival performances have proved that there was a great deal of substance to the band's initial hype.

Now with their second album "Delusions", To-Mera have once again pushed their musical ideas forward to ever greater heights. All the elements present on the last album have been greatly expanded upon. The music displays a much broader range of moods, tempos and dynamics, ranging from fragile subtlety to epic bombast via everything in between. The result is a more sophisticated, melodic and coherent album, teeming with massively heavy riffing, challenging rhythms and jaw-dropping technicality. The vocals of front woman Julie Kiss have become substantially more versatile and powerful, taking on a jazzier tone that befits the more adventurous musical output. To-Mera have succeeded in creating a daring and forward-thinking metal album, defined by a belief that the term "progressive" is not simply a genre tag.

The band will also be playing new material from the new album at the Candlelight Xmas show on December 1st at The Borderline London." For more info, click here.

"Delusions" tracklist:

01. The Lie Listen]
02. Mirage
03. The Glory Of A New Day
04. Inside The Hourglass
05. A Sorrow To Kill
06. Asylum
07. Fallen From Grace
08. Temptation

A preview of the cover art can be found at this location.

"We have a very demanding schedule for next year and I advise you to sit tight and wait for some very exciting news coming early next year. There are some major plans in the works to create a perfect set up for our future activities. There's definitely going to be more touring next year. We'll be doing second European leg with Kataklysm and we'll visit all the markets we didn't make last time. We are also coming back to U.S. for another big tour around March. We'll be touring South America and possibly Japan (cross fingers!) in the Spring. From there on we should take a long break, doing only off shows and occasional festivals. Next year we're going to focus on the next DVD, EP and new album. We already have some sick ideas but its way to early to reveal any details yet. You just have to wait and be surprised!"
