Six Feet Under - Dååth Drummer Joins Ranks

Only two days after bassist Terry Butler (now in Obituary) and drummer Greg Gall announced their departure from Six Feet Under, the band welcomes their new drummer, Kevin Talley.

Well-known Dååth and studio/session drummer Kevin Talley (ex-Dying Fetus, ex-Misery Index, ex-Chimaira) has joined up with Six Feet Under and will appear on the upcoming album, fulfill touring duties, etc.

Commented Chris Barnes: "I am 110% stoked to have Kevin join SFU he is undeniably one of the best, if not THE best drummer in death metal, and I'm proud to have him along for the ride!"

Barnes earlier stated the following regarding the departure: "Just to fill you all in, Steve and myself are very excited about the future of the SFU, and I have been working hard on writing the new SFU material for the past 4 months with a new writing partner.

I will make this guarantee and promise to all the fans of Six Feet Under; the new line up will be a DEATH METAL force to be dealt with, with the long awaited addition of a brutal as fuck drummer and riffs that will rip your face off, vocals ala 1993-1995..."

Bonded By Blood - Involved In Van Accident, Shows Cancelled

US thrashers Bonded By Blood were involved in a weather-caused van accident last weekend. On the icy highway to Trenton, NJ their van slipped and trailer flipped over. Thankfully nobody got hurt, though their trailer was damaged beyond immediate repair.

Bassist Jerry Garcia, who was driving the van, tells the story: "As I was driving down the road the weather kept getting worse and worse. It was very difficult to see outside of our windows and the road was becoming one big sheet of ice. I was going about 40-45 mph about two hours from the venue, listening to the song "Chase The Wind" by our friends band Holy Grail on my headphones, when suddenly I realized that our trailer was on a massive hydroplane completely adjacent to us. I laid off the gas and as soon as I did the trailer pulled the van and caused me to loose complete control. All I could say was "OH FUUUUCK!" I managed to narrowly miss the center divider and a few cars before we skid completely across the highway and almost hit the wall on the other side."

Kids, at this point I think we've all learned a valuable lesson here, do not listen to Holy fucking Grail while driving in the snow. (ed.)

Anyway, the story continues: "I'm not superstitious but it's kind of ironic that Mauro was listening to "Dying Season" by Heathen and the exit off the highway we took after all was said and done was named Moosic."

"We will probably have to miss a few gigs until we can get back on our feet again and get some form of transportation for our gear. Our trailer is fucked beyond immediate repair. We will have to leave it behind and find something else to haul our stuff in. I just hope that our gear is fine and nothing was destroyed. I apologize to anyone that came to see us tonight or will come to see us tomorrow but our safety comes first. We have to get everything fixed and safe before we can go anywhere in this weather. We are extremely bummed that we will have to miss some gigs, this is DEFINITELY NOT OUR STYLE (to miss shows and disappoint our fans) but sometimes things get out of hand."

Bonded By Blood still have a huge tour schedule ahead of them, so you'll have plenty of other chances to see them. For the full story and all tour dates, click here.

Ihsahn - Guest Vocalist On Upcoming Devin Townsend Album

Ihsahn - black metal innovator and all round creative genius - will be doing some guest vocals on the new Devin Townsend album, entitled Decontruction.

The ex-Emperor main-man had the following to say: "I have been a long time fan of Devin and his work, and when he asked me to do some vocals for his upcoming Deconstruction album, I said yes right away. Devin is one of those few uncompromising artists who goes anywhere with their music, wherever that takes them. Nothing but respect!"

Krypteria - New Album Title Revealed

As vocalist Ji-In revealed yesterday on Luxembourg-based radio program "The Abbey Metal Show", All Beauty Must Die is the new title of German symphonic gothic metal band Krypteria.

All Beauty Must Die is set for an April 22nd release through Roadrunner Records.

Drummer Kusch weighs in with the following: "All Beauty Must Die turned out to be our most diverse album yet. For instance, on this record we have the fastest Krypteria song ever. You'll also hear the longest Krypteria track ever at over 11 minutes and for the first time ever we have a number of guest appearances. Plus, for the first time in Krypteria's seven year history each member of this band gets to sing co-lead vocals on one of the songs.

I think you'll hear some of the most epic stuff we've ever done, but also some our rawest stuff as well. To me All Beauty Must Die is the essence of what this band has done so far cranked up all the way to eleven."

Bonded By Blood - Announce Permanent Vocalist

In autumn 2010, vocalist Mauro Gonzalez stepped in at the last minute to front Pomona, CA thrash act Bonded By Blood through a long stretch of touring that only convened towards the end of the year. Because of the tremendous job he did in fronting the band on short notice with little rehearsal through a seemingly never-ending schedule of dates, Bonded By Blood is proud to announce Mauro Gonzalez as a permanent member.

Bonded By Blood bassist Jerry Garcia states: "We would like to formally announce that Mauro Gonzalez is now officially the new frontman for Bonded By Blood. He has shown great promise and dedication in the past few months and we have received great reviews from many old fans, new fans, and well-established musicians throughout our recent North American trek. We are very excited about our decision and we hope that you guys welcome him into the BBB family like we have! See you guys on the killing road real soon."

Officially inducted frontman, Mauro Gonzalez and the rest of Bonded By Blood will tear up the road once again on the North American Retribution Tour, which took off yesterday, with Death Angel and Lazarus A.D.

Defeated Sanity - Part Ways With Vocalist, Announce Replacement

Defeated Sanity will play their last shows with current vocalist AJ Magana (ex-Disgorge) in May of this year. Afterwards the band will replace him with Konstantin Lühring (ex-Despondency).

The band explains: "We will play a small US tour around Maryland Deathfest in May 2011. Expect these shows to be the final ones with AJ Magana on vocals. The dates will be released soon. We enjoyed working with AJ as he is an awesome musician who inspired us with his voice but also a great person in general. Though, everyone of us knows this collaboration is tough to be kept alive over the distance we're living away from each other, making this decision inevitable. So props to AJ for his contribution to Defeated Sanity. We wish him all the best for the future in both his musical and personal activities!

As many of you expected our new permanent singer will be Konstantin Lühring. During the shows he helped out as a session vocalist, he proved himself as the best choice to replace AJ in Defeated Sanity. We want to welcome him as a permanent member and can't wait to unleash the new tunes we are already jamming with him!"

In other news, Defeated Sanity will, in collaboration with Grindethic Records, re-release the band's debut album Prelude To The Tragedy.

This release will feature two bonus tracks: a newly recorded version of "Expectoration of Fear" and a cover song which we will unveiled at a later point. Both tracks will have Konstantin Lühring on vocals. The release will happen in early 2011 with the exact date to be announced later on.
