Shadows Fall - DVD Preview Clip Online

Shadows Fall have unveiled a new clip for their upcoming CD/DVD set entitled Madness in Manila at this location. The clip features a live performance of "Redemption", live in Manila, Philippines. The CD/DVD set for release on October 25th, 2010, and marks the impressive 15 year anniversary of Shadows Fall!

Shadows Fall's first visit to Manila, Philippines came when many bands weren't performing in the city, but through the immense devotion of their fans, the band had a massive, unprecedented reception. In April 2009, the band made their triumphant return to the Philippines to headline the Pulp Summer Slam Festival in Manila for over 22,000 people! Madness in Manila chronicles this event, and includes over 60 minutes of live footage, pryo and all, and various little gems from their 2009 Far East tour. Bonus footage includes video from the Philippines show performance of 'Redemption' and 'Venomous', the Japan Club Citta show performance of 'The Light That Blinds', and the Korean show performance of 'Thoughts Without Words'. Also included with the DVD is an audio CD of the performance!

"It took multiple cameras and killer audio mix to capture the explosive energy and maniacal crowd of the Pulp Summer Slam, and this DVD does just that," states vocalist Brian Fair. "This was our first performance after completing the recording of Retribution, so we came out swinging with new songs, ready to attack the stage. The crowd of 22,000 in Manila gave us an overwhelming welcome and absolutely destroyed the place. Lots of metal, pyro and Red horse beer. It truly was Madness in Manila."

The Ocean - Check Out The New Song

You can now check out a brand new The Ocean track, called "The Grand Inquisitor II - Roots & Locusts", off the band's upcoming album entitled Anthropocentric, at Stereogum. The album Anthropocentric serves as part two of the concept explored on the band's well-received Heliocentric long player, released this past spring and will be released in North America on 9th November via Metal Blade.

Furthermore, the Landing Page for Anthropocentric is now live as well, offering fans in the US, UK, Canada, and Europe a chance to pre-order the album. "She Was the Universe," the third track off Anthropocentric, is streaming now. Metal Blade Records will continue to update the Landing Page leading up to and throughout the release of Anthropocentric with news, tours, dates, video footage, and more so be sure to check back frequently.

"Despite the fact that Darwin inaugurated a paradigm shift in modern natural science, his thoughts were not the last nail in Christianity's coffin. There are still people who believe that the teachings in Genesis are to be taken verbatim. These people are at the crosslines of Anthropocentric. Anthropocentric challenges the views of creationists and other modern fundamentalists who still believe that the earth is at the center of the universe and no more than 5,000 years old. Where Heliocentric covered a large range of dynamics and styles from calm, soulful songs based on piano and vocals to moments of eclectic heaviness, Anthropocentric is more straight forward, technical and soul-searingly heavy, whilst still tapping into the band's signature range of dynamics."

To check out "The Grand Inquisitor II - Roots & Locusts," visit Stereogum. More information about the album can be found here.

God Dethroned - New Song Up For Streaming

Dutch death metallers, God Dethroned, have launched a landing page for their upcoming new album Under The Sign Of The Iron Cross. Head to this location now to stream the title track off the new album and to find out about the various pre-order deals.

Comments singer/guitarist Henri Sattler on the title track: "The 1905 Schlieffen Plan made by the Prussian Count von Schlieffen after England signed the previous Entente Cordiale in 1904 with France. The plan was based on a battle between Hannibal and the Roman army in 216 B.C. that was later modified and eventually failed when put into practice. It remains uncertain if the changes to the Schlieffen Plan or the plan itself was the reason for not being successful."

The bands 9th album was recorded at the Soundlodge Studios in Leer, Germany.

Comments singer/guitarist Henri Sattler: "Musically the new album turned out to be one of the most extreme records we ever did. Nevertheless with the very recognizable God Dethroned hooks present in all the songs. Producer Joerg Uken outdid himself this time, because our new album is in my opinion the best produced album we ever had. Extremely raw, heavy, but crystal clear and super dynamic at the same time."
