Nuclear Blast proudly announces the signing of Unleashed! The legendary Swedish Viking Death Metal has several classic albums like "Across The Open Sea" already to their credit and is the perfect example for mixing melody and aggression: their riffs are pure shrapnel, but their choruses are epic, melting uncompromising brutality with anthemic odes to the Odin.
A statement from the band: "Unleashed marks their 20th Anniversary by proudly announcing their signing to Nuclear Blast records. Johnny and the Boys eagerly anticipate their partnership in this new era of Viking Death Metal."
Their Nuclear Blast album debut is set for a 2010 release.

Whiplash - Two New Songs Online

US metallers Whiplash have posted online a new song, "Feeding Frenzy", on their MySpace page.
"Feeding Frenzy" comes off the band's forthcoming album, entitled "Unborn Again", which is scheduled for release on July 15 via Pulverised Records. The album was recorded at Mozart Studio with world-renowned engineer/producer Harris Johns (Sodom, Kreator, Helloween, Sepultura). The band mixed and mastered the CD at Spiderhouse Studio. The cover artwork was done by Ed Repka.

Canadian metallers Vengeful have issued the following update:
"Like promised, we're back with a brand new track this week.
"Anguish" is somewhat of an old song that morphed into the new sound. The ending really has this new feel for us. It's available in high quality mp3 on our official site.
Next week we'll be back with the artwork and tracklisting for the album."

Regarding its upcoming album, entitled "The Omnipresent Curse", the band recently commented: "It's been two years in the making and it's difficult to describe how eager we are to share our own new brand of death metal with all you 'deatheads' out there. We'll have something new to put online every week until the release date on August 15th. Expect something different when you hear the whole thing as all the songs have their own personality."

Armored Saint - New Song Online

Armored Saint is releasing a free demo version of a new song titled "Loose Cannon". This demo (performed with a drum program) gives you all a glimpse into Armored Saint's writing process and is also a nice taste of what's to come on the band's forthcoming full-length studio release.
The demo for "Loose Cannon" is available right now at the band's MySpace page and at the Metal Blade Records website - Free download here!
And for those of you who will be attending the Rock Gone Wild Festival in Northwood, Iowa on August 23rd, the Saint will be performing this new song "Loose Cannon" in their set.

Dethklok - New Album Details
"The Dethalbum II", the new album by Dethklok, the animated metal band from Adult Swim's "Metalocalypse", will be released on September 29 via Williams Street Records.
The album features 12 full-length tracks detailing Dethklok's exploits in murder, mayhem and all things brutal. Written by series co-creator Brendon Small and recorded alongside legendary drummer Gene Hoglan, "The Dethalbum II" will be released as both a standard edition and a two-disc deluxe edition on CD and digital download beginning September 8th. The deluxe edition will include a bonus DVD with 52 minutes of never-before-released music videos featured in the 2008 Dethklok tour.
Additionally, a limited edition vinyl of the album will be released in to local record shops on September 29th.

Marionette - New Album Details
Swedish metallers Marionette have set "Enemies" as the title of their forthcoming album, due in Europe in October via Listenable Records.
The album was recorded with a team of up-and-coming as well as established names in Swedish music including Pontus Hjelm (Dead By April) and two-time Swedish Grammis award winning producer and songwriter Åke Parmerud. The album was mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström (In Flames, At The Gates, Bring Me The Horizon) at Studio Fredman and Peter In De Betu (Dimmu Borgir, Zonaria) at Tailor Maid respectively in May 2009.

All of the live experience we have had while touring has made us more skillful as individual musicians and tighter as a band. All this will reflect itself on "Enemies" when it is in your hands this fall!"

Regarding the video, the band commented: "It lacks the quality of the last God Dethroned video but we are happy with it. As we all know French soldiers aren't very experienced with shooting, but the civilians of Metaluna Productions did a very good job. The live footage of "Master Of The Bryansk Forests" was shot at the 2008 edition of the Chaulnes Metal Fest in France by Metaluna Productions."

Finntroll - To Enter Studio Next Week
Finnish metallers Finntroll have issued the following update:
"Sonic Pump Studios is under attack!
Monday, July 27th, 2009 will be remembered as the "Day Of Wrath", when the sky rained fire and molten plague. And also because Finntroll will enter Sonic Pump Studios to start the recordings of our... hmm, fifth...? I guess so, yet-untitled album.
We will try to keep you guys informed about the nasty stuff we do there via diary or even a video diary (gasp!) to see how badly it goes.
And for the record, all confirmed gigs will be played, so no need to worry about that."
In other news, as previously reported here, Finntroll filmed and recorded a recent show at the world-famous Melkweg in Amsterdam, for an as-yet-untitled DVD, which will be released in September via Spinefarm Records.

In-Quest - New Video Online
"Mind Over Matter", the new video from Belgian metallers In-Quest, has been made available online. The clip was filmed at Rockerill, Charleroi and was directed by Dave Hannes.
"Mind Over Matter" comes off the band's forthcoming album, entitled "Made Out Of Negative Matter", which is expected to be released later in the year.
