Xandria - Dianne Van Giersbergen Announces Departure From The Band

It looks as though there's more than meets the eye regarding Xandria's yesterday's announcement of their U.S. tour cancellation and stand-in singer for European shows. Shortly after the band released that statement, singer Dianne Van Giersbergen issued a statement of her own announcing her departure from the symphonic group saying that if she stayed it would damage her health problems even more. So, it seems like Xandria will need to search for a new vocalist.

Adrenaline Mob - Bassist Killed In Fatal Crash

The bassist from New York metal band Adrenaline Mob was killed and other members and crew were injured when the group was involved in a major bus accident en route to a concert Friday in St. Petersburg. David Zablidowsky, who also played for more than a dozen years in the Tampa-based Trans-Siberian Orchestra, died Friday afternoon when, according to the Gainesville Sun, a tractor trailer struck the band's RV and on Interstate 75 near Micanopy.

Kittie - Bassist Trish Doan Dead At 31

Kittie's bass player Trish Doan has passed away at the age of 31. The band made the announcement on their Facebook page. Doan joined Kittie in 2005, left in 2007, and re-joined in 2012. She appears on the band's 2006 EP, Never Again, and 2007 full-length, Funeral For Yesterday, and toured with the band until her death. R.I.P.

Firespawn - New Album Announced

Swedish devil worshipers Firespawn just announced a new upcoming album! The Reprobate will descent upon mankind on April 28th and you can expect "nothing less than a merciless piece of evil, ferocious and blasphemous death metal." The cover artwork for The Reprobate, as you can see here, is an excerpt of a huge painted piece of artwork, done by Paolo Girardi. Girardi has been responsible for the artwork of Firespawn's debut album as well as artworks for bands such as Black Breath, Power Trip, Chthe'ilist, Manilla Road and many more.

Def Leppard - Announce N. American Tour With Poison And Tesla

Fresh off winning their fan voted Classic Rock Magazine Album of the Year award, Def Leppard announce they will return to the road this spring for a three month run across North America. The outing will storm through cities across parts of the U.S. and Canada. This new leg of dates follows the groups massive 70+ city 2016 tour and is set to kick off on April 8th in Manchester, NH and wrap on June 25th in Indianapolis, IN. ReVamp - Disband

Perhaps it was to be expected but ReVamp have officially called it a day, having released two albums, their self-titled in 2010 and Wild Card in 2013. Singer Floor Jansen joined Nightwish, of course, and since then ReVamp haven't been very active. Curiously enough, she is now pregnant as well. The other band members will focus on new projects.

Arkona - Premiere New Re-Recorded Song

The Russian folk metal band Arkona just presented the song "Pod Mechami" from their re-recorded debut album Vozrozhdenie, which will be released on November 11th in a super fat digibook with beautiful illustrations of "Pagan artist" Kris Verwimp! Arkona's debut album Vozrozhdenie was originally released in 2004 (it means "revival").

Alissa White-Gluz is going solo! The Arch Enemy front woman created an entity dubbed simply Alissa and her brand new solo project has now been worldwide signed by Napalm Records. White-Gluz remains firmly installed in her role in Arch Enemy. Alissa is more of a musical collective, led by White-Gluz and featuring contributions from her wide network of talented friends. Kobra And The Lotus - Sign Deal With Napalm Records For Double Album

Canadian band Kobra And The Lotus have signed a worldwide deal with Napalm Records. Their fourth album and Napalm Records debut Prevail I plus II will be released as two separate volumes of a double album. The first part will be released in February 2017 with the second part to follow in October of 2017.
