Damn, I need to bite my tongue and say that this is my contender for AOTY (maybe 10 in the future). Listen to it over and over again and never get bored. I must admit also that haven't heard about blackened krautrock until now. Big thanks to Jooe and your staff pick!

I can't see a problem with just listening to music and doing nothing else. I do that quite often. Great way to unwind.
Music is to be heard and not to be used as some background stuff while doing other stuff imo. Why would one go to a concert?
Totally agree with Marcel on that one... how possible. But yeah I often just sit there and do nothing but listen to music, I mean why not ? I love music

AT times it is possible
remember I was a HUGE thrasher when thrash started out and hit the big time back in the day SO there's a bit in common. Shame you would ever be able to feel the same excillearion (wrong spelling I know) we original thrashers felt when the genre was original and totally grond breaking and the harshest thing around

Maybe not ''at the time'' but for me it was, just think about it, the very first heavy metal band I really liked was Maiden, and then I found Thrash... So for me, it was the most extreme at the time So yeah, my argument is still valid But I understand what you mean.

And I thought doom was repetitive and dull...
Surprise, surprise it appeals to us hardline doomsters as well
But I love how you find this and doom repetitive and ull when a lot of the bands you seem to love are just as repetitive and dull but in a different way.

Haha I guess I'm not that surprised There's not many memorable aspects to the album, it must be something you have to enjoy whilst distracted by some other activity or lying in bed waiting for the next riff to emerge 4 minutes down the line xD
I feel there has to be has to be a degree of repetitiveness in all music otherwise it would prove inconclusive, but this is over the top (obviously imo).
Just out of curiosity which music were you referring to in particular? I'm guessing Amon Amarth numbers somewhere among that list

first and foremost Amon Amarth
but also
Insomnium, Be'lakor, Swallow The Sun, Bloodbath (although I love them), Omnium Gatherum, Scar Symmetry

Yea I to have a soft spot for melodies, regardless of repetitiveness But at least the riffs change at a faster pace...

Clearly this band has had some affect on you though, or you wouldn't have bothered coming back to reiterate what you already said ages ago. Quite clearly isn't that boring

Caught me! Well I fully admit to returning to rate the album because I felt that other albums on the top of 2012 were more worthy....So I rated the album what I thought it deserved based on my opinion...that's about it

Never heard of Lussaria, but they're playing at a venue 20 minutes walk from my house with Stephen O'Malley and Lutine (never heard of them either) but I'm quite excited for it.

Rad! Did the gig occur yet? If so, how was it? Lussuria is a dark ambient project with many releases on Dominick Fernow's Hospital Productions. I'd recommend giving "American Babylon" a listen if you have not yet done so.
