Lordi, we should all thank them that they have been so good, that they have dared to make history, that they have dared to stay themselves and I really hope they shall always be as they have always been....full of positive energy and kindness.....
Let us open this thread in honour of their great victory which is also a great for their country.....

@ Achor I know what you mean. After Lordi won ESC, more or less every relative I´ve visited has asked if I like Lordi, because I like metalmusic.

I like Lordi a lot, I recently discovered, I watched it the videos on youtube and I simply loved it. I downloaded teh videos, now I must get the discography. I like the way they dress, teh make up and costumes, it's great, it makes a huge contrast with their songs... "Would you love a monsterman...". I liek it a lot, I'll et teh discography soon, I promise.

I find all their clips boring. I got a concert of them before Eurovision. At the beggining they sound and seem good, but after a while you can understand how boring they are...

Havent really been bothered to check them out, not really my taste after i heard them on the ESC. But, I've been gliding around my friends firends myspace and bebo pages (alot of these people are from England), and one thing that ive notice is that alot of them are listing Lordi in the music they listen to and quite offen admitting that they have only heard the one song from them. Presuming the song they play on the ESC. Ive had my friend ask them if they've heard anymore of Lordi's stuff and all the answers have been 'no'. I find theis really discraseful.

I used to like Lordi, when I heard that they were going to compete in ESC I thought it was cool and pretty fun. I even gave my vote to them, they won and I were so happy. But then, everybody bought the album (which really sucks BTW) and thoght they were the worst metalheads ever! And now they are going to release a horror movie and their own cola ... Lordi has lost all my respect! They are by far the worst rock band I've ever heard of!

A cola, a book, another book, a movie... What next? I´m proud of them as they brought the first victory for Finland in ESC, but now I think I´ve seen about enough. These things have nothing to do with music anymore, just pure money. @ Xtreme Jax Yes, Lordi-cola. I wonder how that tastes like. I guess I´ll have to go and buy some today.  But it´s not a new phenomenon in Finland. After all, Nightwish have their own beer and so on...

C'mon, Lordi cola ? I understand merchandise (posters, caps, sweatbands, belts, jewelries etc etc..) well, but geez, COLA ? If some band sells something like cola, they've been drinking all their money away or they are sellouts. Neeh, just jokeing, but i can't understand this cola thing at all.. I don't like Lordi's music, but i was very happy when Lordi won. It truly was different from those old and boring lovesongs and popshit.. Finland cannot win ESC twice, don't worry  Unless..THE IMPALED NAZARENE TO THE ESC 2007 ! :'D

I suppose the whole idea with the cola is to honour Mr. Lordi who is a great fan of cola. But yes, it sounds like a plan of a band who´s out of money. But there was just a piece of news that Mr. Lordi has earned his first million. And btw that cola tastes like Coca Cola that has been outside the fridge, opened for a week.

@MaidenVarius If you think Lordi sucks, you don´t wanna see the other performers in ESC... They are maily pop, but anything can happen. In previous years Finland has mainly sent those 50-year-old men and women to sing and dance in an embarrassing way, but now peole chose Lordi instead. Next year we´ll probably have some opera singer... And other countries keep sending pop, techno and country music performers. In my opinion, ESC is a totally useless competition. Now one can even get a credit card with Lordi´s pic on it. And Lordi made into the Guiness book of records too. Or mainly the Finnish people who gathered to Kauppatori and sang "Hard Rock Hallelujah" together...

If someone says that "EEW I hate Lordi now because everyone buys their albums and they are performing on every concert and they are so mainstream and pop now...." then I'd say that perhaps this is good that Lordi has gained so much popularity.....perhaps people will lose some of their prejudices concerning metal...... For fock's sayke I could also whine about Metsatöll performing on GoLive concert(where mainly popstars and girl-bands gather.....)...I am over that....

I discovered them in 2005 when I saw video on Viva+ I find them very interesting as appearence...Now, the music isn't nothing special but it's ok And I'm glad they won ESC too bad I wasn't at home that night to see that

I personally don't care for lordi, They are talented and they are respesctable for being so into what they do, but I don't really like them.
