^^^Yeah it is kinda fucking scary.I also really like Morbid Angel's "Blessed Are The Sick",it is mystery de satan,or something like that.Latley it has been my favorite MA album.I have owned it for quite sometime,just never fully appreciated it,used to only listen to "Day Of Suffering","Ancient Ones" and "Fall From Grace".Now I like all of the instrumental breaks,its just not as catchy as "Altars",but its more epic.One weird thin though,its seems it was pieced together,some of the songs sound as if they were recorded at differen't times.Dave's voice is very deep on some tracks,and others sound as like they could've been on "Altars",just an observation I made.

You know how you made that observation about how some of the songs off Blessed are sick sound like they could be off Altars of Madness?

Well in this interview taken in 1991, Trey sez that the 'new album' has a few songs from the 'old album' etc.

Love Morbid Angel. I have AoM, Covenant, and Domination so far. Only thing I wish they did better was a bit better sound production on Heretic songs. It's only minor though.

Yeah dude, that's by far their most underrated album.

Extremely underrated in that it was stuck between Altars and Covenant, but awesome album it is.

Seriously, what's up with Morbid Angel nowadays? They haven't updated their website since September and I haven't read anything about them lately in my monthly Metal magazine... anyone here who can update me?

From what I've heard they should have a new album this year, but that's about it.

Wonder how the new album will turn out then, the Morbid Angel fans (I'm not really one of them since I haven't heard all the albums) doesn't seem to appreciate Heretic that much, or am I wrong?

Most of them somehow hate it thast's true, but there is also a small group of Morbid Angel fans that really loves Heretic 9I am amongst those)

yes please .. I love the cafty variations in their songs.
'Altars of Madness' and 'Blessed are the Sick' are great Death metal albums (esp songs like Immortal rites, Chapel of ghouls, The ancient ones, abominations ). Very addictive.

Heretic was ok, it had some really awesome moments in it, but as whole I think it didnt it really matched for their other releases, dont hate it though.

Formulas fatal to the flesh IMO is alot better then domination and even a notch higher than Gateways fatal to the flesh. I feel its much faster than their previous album and more addicting to me.

Heretic's production really bothered me. It made the music less catchy and almost a chore to listen to.

Yes, definetly worth checking out, formulas fatal to the flesh I would recommend strongly. Songs like prayer of hate, heaving earth are crazy songs..

Pete Sandoval do I even need to say anything? Domination,Formulas,Heretic,Covenant all great albums David Vincent rejoined looking forward to a new album and if his voice is still harsh.

The following message was posted on Repulse Records's official website:

"Legendary extreme metal band Morbid Angel is currently working on material for the group's first studio album since 2003's "Heretic". The upcoming CD will mark the group's first release to feature vocalist/bassist David Vincent since 1995's "Domination". Commented guitarist Trey Azagthoth: "We are currently heavy with band rehearsals. Things are going really awesome, lots of exciting and inspired material. I'm damn ready to get this new release cranking!!"

Morbid Angel is presently unsigned, having parted ways with Earache Records following "Heretic"'s release.

Although Morbid Angel's upcoming album does not currently have a name, its title will likely begin with the letter "I", in keeping with the band's tradition of titling their albums in alphabetical order beginning with 1989's "Altars of Madness", and continuing through "Heretic". Morbid Angel's current lineup includes Vincent, Azagthoth and drummer Pete Sandoval."

^^^ Sounds awesome, I mean 4 years without a release, Trey must have some fucking great riffs written, as well as some insane solos. I wonder if they will record as a trio, or recruit another guitarist?

I said a few months ago, that all of the post-Vincent albums are inferior, but I decided to give Gateways to Annihilation another chance, and am glad that I did. The only complaint, which is also true with Formulas Fatal to the Flesh, is that at the end of several songs, I could not say that I really 'understood' it. For example, tracks 5 and 7 have solid riffs and EXCELLENT drumming, and I've heard those songs many times, but still haven't caught on to the melody. That complaint is not true for a single song on any of the first four albums. I do wish that I still had Ffttf so that I could give it another chance, but it, along with about 50 other CDs, are the casualty of my years living in a college dorm room.

I can listen to all of their material, some albums I prefer above others. But even the 'weaker' albums have standout songs and amazing musicianship...Damn Right,

MORBID ANGEL!!!!!!! T RULY A CLASSIC ACT I JUST LOVE THIS BAND!!!!! ALTARS OF MADNESS!!!!!!!! Whats even better about them is that they have solos and i respect them for it even if some last like 5 secs

Formulas is the best morbid angel album and imo the best album ever made. Treys guitar work is pure genious. Sure David Vincent isnt on the mic but I like Steve better and he did a GREAT job on vocals. Pete was as always a fantastic and one of the best drummers. So really an album can not get much better
