ThunderSteel is often described as Riot's best album, which to me comes as no surprise. Admittedly, Riot were a late discovery for me, after years of listening to the mighty Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest, but I'm glad I eventually did, and in particular ThunderSteel.

Good album. Vocalist gets annoying at some points, but overally, quality heavy metal.

I'm deeply saddened by the death of Mark Reale. He was a gifted songwriter, great musician and a great Heavy Metal Guy.

Thundersteel is one of their finest work. A great Heavy Metal Album of this generation and many generation to come.

A streak of lightning is shooting through the air
Electric sun lights the sky
His face is frightening, so evil ones beware
Men of disaster hear his cry

And now at last we know he's real
The power of his sword we feel
Thundersteel Thundersteel

The earth it rumbles, death is in the air
The city crumbles, death is everywhere
And from the burning sky we see the soldier fly
He mounts his horse of steel and now he rides

And now at last we know he's real
The power of his word we feel
Thundersteel Thundersteel

A streak of lightning is shooting through the air
Electric sun lights the sky
His face is frightening, so evil ones beware
Men of disaster hexar his cry

And now at last we know he's real
The power of his sword we feel
Thundersteel Thundersteel Thundersteel

Classic album by great band, a loop cd, this album redefine the elements of speed metal, the vocals are not annoying at all.
The title track is a great and memorable song, also Bloodstreet and Run for your Life.

The vocals are totally great. Fight or Fall, Thundersteel, Bloodstreets etc...

True classic right here, sadly a bit forgotten as well. Thundersteel is a varied album that delivers gem after gem and showcases one of the best reunions throughout the metal history. No need to choose any highlights since everything on this record is awesome. All killers no fillers!

And now at last we know he's real, The power of his sword we feel... Thundersteel! THUNDERSTEEEEL!!!!

Great album, but I kinda wanna punch whoever produced and mixed this in the temple. I mean holy shit the production on this is quite possibly the most poorly mixed, unnecessarily over the top and most annoying piece of crap I've ever heard. I actually have a hard time listening to this otherwise great album. It's always a shame when the production ruins great music.

Very good old-school Heavy stuff.
I agree, hard to pick standout tracks, basically all decent, no filler.
And yes, vocals tend to annoy slightly at times, but really rarely.
A 7.6 from me.
Dont know what is supposed to be so wrong with the production here, at least on the copy that I spun.

The finest piece of speed metal awesomeness ever. Thundersteel isn't technically the most well produced album ever, but it sure delivers the goods nonetheless. I don't think there's one single quarter-second of anything other than pure and timeless metal bliss. Masterpiece.

Amazing album loaded with awesome songs! There is just a cascade of great riffs and amazing solos all over. High tempo songs combined with beautiful slow paced songs makes this a real masterpiece!

Just randomly thought to pick an album that I haven't commented on from the top200. And this was it, I have given this album a few listens in the past and it hasn't quite lived up to the standards it's receiving, for me. The title track, of course, is freaking legendary; if they had copy pasted that and changed a little bits for each song it would have been a total master-fuckin'-piece.

I prefer the faster songs here; Thunder Steel, Flight Of The Warrior, Johnny's Back and Run For Your Life. It's like Megadeth when they were on substances, they were playing fast, breaking boundaries of metal; I might drop a shoutout to Maco and his signature of Crackhead Megadave reigning supreme.

One of the classics but I do feel it is somewhat overrated. If we look at some of the other speed metal classics, this one does seem like a little bit forgettable album overall; it does have good songs and some not total classic ones. I do get the high rating though.

Production here is meh, uneven and murky. Falsetto vocal in title track is little bit annoying, but gets much better furder. Best songs: "Sign Of The Crimson Storm", "Flight Of The Warrior", "Bloodstreets" and title track. Overall a classic Power Metal album, but from the same year I like Hypertrace, A Distant Thunder and Digital Dictator musch more!
