Melodic death metal fans probably die in dozens every day here and no one cares but the community gets less interesting when someone with a bit more experimental taste leaves.
Halfway through the year.... Dissonant black is the winner for me so far. A bit surprised that those albums have so few votes despite being much better than what DsO put out the last 15 years.
"Punk's Not Dead", a brand-new song from UK's blackened thrash metallers Venom can now be streamed in the YouTube-video below.
"Punk's Not Dead" comes off the band's upcoming album Fallen Angels, which is set to be released on November 28th via Spinefarm Records/Universal. More album details were previously reported here and here.
Both the Venom and Exploited songs are great, but I have to question why a band like Venom would be writing such a song.
That's because punk has a big influence in metal. Only a poser would make such a stupid question.
I realize that, but you don't see other Metal bands writing about punk. Usually they just cover a punk song or something. Deep Purple doesn't write songs about classical music, Black Sabbath doesn't write about the blues, and so forth. It just seems rather odd to me.
It's Venom what's dead, a corpse that has been rotting for about 30 years
Agreed. And this song sucks donkey balls.

They shake your hand and they smile and they buy you a drink
They say we'll be your friends we'll stick with you till the end
But everybody's only looking out for themselves
And you say who can you trust I'll tell you nobody
