As it stands, The Tower is a remarkably listenable record for the avant-garde genre. One shouldn't expect Unexpect levels of what some may describe as borderline incoherent music, instead this has a more accessible and immediately satisfying sound. If you hold any reservations for the complex nature of the genre Vulture Industries offer a uniquely charismatic entry point.

Long gone are the Arcturus copycat days, now Vulture Industries just released their most personal album to date. Soaring, theatrical, twisted, deeply emotional, awesome.

After quite weak second album, I was afraid, that Vulture Industrie won't be able to create something good as :The Dystopia Journals". However, they proved me wrong. "The tower" is definitelly their best to date and so dark and intimate. I evevn wish there would be more saxophone and jazzy parts as in "Lost among liars". Nevertheless it's one of the best this year.

The dead won't mind is a relatively weak song, but the rest are great.
Lost among liars is very good.

I've listened to, The Tower a few times so far and I'd say it's easily one of the best albums of the year. Vulture industries are new to me but hearing their other albums now, they seem solid.

Man, the only weak moment on this album is The Dead Won't Mind. The rest is really good stuff.

I think I've just listened to the album that I will vote for in the coming MS Awards. Seriously, I doubt any other avant-garde metal band will be able to top it.

This band suffers from the same disease as Diablo Swing Orchestra and gets worse with every subsequent release.

Ok, I've listened to this album quite a few times now, but I really don't get what makes it special. It's perfectly good music, but there's nothing that really makes me think the album is worth another try.

I have listened to their other albums and it seems like they got rid some of the things that made them experimental. Vulture Industries are still fairly unique and this is still a great album to me, but the squeaky clean production makes it lose a lot of what made the previous albums so good. nockin' it down from 9.... to 8.6 based on these startling reevaluations 0_o

Devil Doll cover bonus track, for real?

Haha, that was how I found out about this band. I was looking around Youtube for some Devil Doll stuff and saw that cover in a live video. I was like "someone fucking did a Devil Doll cover?"
And a pretty good one too.

Quiet astonishing take on avantgarde metal. I was more expecting a chaotic mess a la unexpect but this one is less extreme when it comes to craziness. My only complain is the production. It's quiet good but not on the same level as other elements of their music.

Am I the only one that likes The Dead Won't Mind? It's quirky and fun and it's only three minutes long so it doesn't drag.

That closer, though. Lost Among Liars powerful. Raises this from an 8 to a 9 alone.

IMO this sounds more interesting than their previous album. Need more listens though.

It's a good album, but after a few listens it feels like that many of these songs are too similar. There's not that much of a distinction, except for maybe "The Hound" and "The Dead Won't Mind". Anyway, I'll be definitely listening this more in the future.

Thought I'd test this out to see if it works. Used your quote from another thread to give you a notification here.

Not without reason tho! I know you like prog/avant-garde stuff so I thought I'd recommend this

Good recommendation. I've heard this album before but I don't think I made my mind up about it at the time!
