When not listening to metal, I tend to migrate toward one of rap's subgenres, Nerdcore. Nerdcore features lyrics concerning geek culture (gaming, scifi/fantasy, technology, science, literature, etc.) and the beats are often built off samples from video game soundtracks and movie/TV themes. On paper, this sounds kind of corny but there are some great Nerdcore artists that really bring a different take than the typical rap lyrics. Here are a few of my favorite artists: Introducing Neals is the latest album by Ytcracker, a longtime hactivist/cracker, concerning Internet control and net neutrality: https://ytcracker.bandcamp.com/album/introducing-neals Richie Branson, aka the Otaku King, is known for his anime and gaming themed raps: https://youtu.be/--uHJmUFfY4 Optimus Rhyme "Obey the Moderator": https://youtu.be/FTLwiccIOxI
